Thanks @gmk1217. What you say @NobbZ ?
Project management or Editor?
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
Do you want to learn ruby on rails or parsing stuff with javascript? If it is RoR, I'd go with PM, if it is parsing, I'd go with the editor
Oh, and sorry if it takes some time until I answer, gitter client is crashing all the time when I have a VBox running
Mohan Krishna
@gmk1217
as an intial step i would go with pretty simple project...
PM or BlogSoftware
something to get familiar with RoR
since I am QA who is taking a drift.. so wanted it to be simple..
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
You are right but don't you thing we choose something medium or bigger type software. See BlogSoftware is so common and at one point it stop we can't expand it any more. What I think choose something medium level software and work on it. We clear our rails basic in medium / bigger type software too. It's not like we have to reach at top of mountain in one step we have to go step by step. Why is saying this because I want continuous development on project with more and more ideas and features.
Rest you guys decide. I follow whatever decision you take :D
Mohan Krishna
@gmk1217
100 % agreed
whats your opinion on PM
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
Even a Bloggingsoftware is not just finished... Take a look at WordPress, it still gets additions that goes beyond template changes and refactoring
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Yah! right
Okie finalize then
Blogging, PM or Editor. My vote for Editor and PM.
Mohan Krishna
@gmk1217
i am going with Blog software and PM
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
I'd also vote for Blog or PM.
Also I think, both would grow rather quick to a level of complexity where "learning" should be over, but PM starts already at a higher level of compexity than blogging does.
Anyway, market is already flooded with both kinds of software and WordPress is a matured blogging system that does not leave any wishes open, whilest no PM I know about does what I want from it.
So my final vote goes to PM
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Okie then final decision
Go for PM.
Mohan Krishna
@gmk1217
A bog OK for PM
BIG
:)
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Who will manage repo, on github?
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
Lets create an organisation and add us three as members
But also then we need a name for that organisation and for the project
Mohan Krishna
@gmk1217
can AgileMine be the name for the project... ? :)
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Shakespeare said what is in the name :D
So choose anything whatever you love.
Mohan Krishna
@gmk1217
"THE THREE - make a drift" can be the or organisation name.. :)
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
AgileMine is a) too much pushing to agile development and b) too much like the "mine" we already have in redmine and rubymine.
The organisation name is far to long and not really rememberable (does that word actually exist?)
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Team3x - Org Name
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
that name is not used on github so far, so we can use it
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
What about project name.
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Create Org. on github and add member. Who will take that responsibility?
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
I could do that. If necessary we still can transfer ownership later
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Yah! do it and transfer ownership side by side instead of later
finish it in one strike :D
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
Can there multiple owners in one org?
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Never checked! Cross check it.
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
Seems to be possible, github asks for additional owners during creation of the org
Mohan Krishna
@gmk1217
good
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
OK, you two have been invited
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
I'm in!
Mohan Krishna
@gmk1217
Iam in
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Okie now decide project name and then we do brain-strome about idea ... make flow and let's code
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
I'm not really good in inventing names...
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Sagittarius :P
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
Astrology?
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Astrology provide wonderful names choose one from them.
Norbert Melzer
@NobbZ
You are right.
And Sagittarius is a good one.
Sagittarius keeps his target and aims on it until he finished it off. A great analogy for a PM ;)
Deepak Sharma
@deepakkumarsharma
Yah! good one. Okie I'll create repo with this name and will do initial commit. We'll work on rails version 4.2
okay!
