What do you mean by UWP ? The app is a UWP web app based on Project Westminster. And so it is available for both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.
André
@andre726
Ok perfect i don t know that ;)

@kika123
bonjour
hello

@Odonno
Hello
Mohamed MEDIOUNI
@kika123
@Odonno how did you implement notifications? :)
Fully client-side or you use a server which calls the notification API?
David Bottiau
@Odonno
@kika123 It's client-side. I mean, each 15 minutes, your device call the gitter API to get unread messages, unread mentions and if there is new messages, it pushes a notification.
Mohamed MEDIOUNI
@kika123
ok, so not real-time :)
David Bottiau
@Odonno
oh sorry, there is two kind of notifications
delayed notifications when the app is in background (ex: x unread messages)
and realtime notifications, when the app is in the foreground and a new message is received
@kika123 Is it more clear ?
Mohamed MEDIOUNI
@kika123
yep

@ThomasPrioul
Hi, I've just upgraded from WP8 to WM10 and the w10 version of this app is like 100x times better! Congrats!
David Bottiau
@Odonno
@ThomasPrioul Thanks
Thomas Prioul
@ThomasPrioul
I think the Gitter tracker of your repo activity is somehow broken
When I try to mention an issue it doesn't appear in the suggestions, and also the activity panel on right side of official client lists the last activity as oct 26 2015
David Bottiau
@Odonno
Yes
I think that's because this room is linked to the deprecated repo
Thomas Prioul
@ThomasPrioul
Oh that would explain it
Anyway, wanted to point out things about the app layout on the phone. Which has too much wasted space I think. I will upload screenshots to explain what I mean later. Need PC for that
David Bottiau
@Odonno
I know what you mean. I planned to make something like a hideable header and so on.
I currently do not have allocated to the project. So, if this an urgent problem, I'll invite you to make a PR on the repo modern-gitter-winjs
Thomas Prioul
@ThomasPrioul
Nice to know! I don't know anything about WinJS so I wouldn't be of quick help there.
And it's not "urgent" :)
David Bottiau
@Odonno
It's mainly an angular app, with a few extra bit of winjs
I'll contact if there is some news about updates
Thomas Prioul
@ThomasPrioul
I meant I don't even do javascript
David Bottiau
@Odonno
Ok, no problem
Robert
@RJaycreative
I just got this app. Nice!!

@ipeter6775
Anyone in this room? Helloooooo
Good morning world... Who's here
Thomas Prioul
@ThomasPrioul
Hi
Eric Eastwood
@MadLittleMods
@ipeter6775 It's better to ask your question directly instead of asking if anyone is around
David Bottiau
@Odonno
Hello guys, I am sorry I did not give news sooner
David Bottiau
@Odonno
The current version of the app is not maintained. I planned to make a new version but I can't design it right now. I hope you understand.
Thomas Prioul
@ThomasPrioul
no pb

@Aravind-Belagaje
In app the bove hedder (which contains refresh buton) overlaps with text. you may have noticed ut just informing.
sorry it was "in app above"
Aravind-Belagaje
@Aravind-Belagaje
"https://gitter.im/UWP-Mobile/Lobby?utm_source=share-link&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=share-link " come to this room here we can have some general discussion about UWP SDK of Windows 10 Mobile
Aravind-Belagaje
@Aravind-Belagaje
Can't we call that api in c# and make tha app similar to a simple messaging app sorry I don't have much knowledge about app development and are you trying for entire new design? Can join with u for the development?
Thomas Prioul
@ThomasPrioul
The old windows 8 gitter app used c#
For the UWP Odonno used javascript because
it is more appropriate for the API
Especially about realtime messages I believe
