I think snapshots should be pushed on every succesful travis build as an after_success hook. See this: https://gist.github.com/neothemachine/4060735
Releases can be manual step
You can store encrypted passwords on travis just fine
Asbjørn Aarrestad
@ahaarrestad
I agree on the "push-pr-merge" when we have a stable release to rely on, but perhaps we should have a bit more restricted push-policy until then?
André Behrens
@serious6
I would also suggest in autodeploying snapshots to the maven snapshot repo. The following needs to be handled when we try to do that:
  • username and password should be encrypted (even if this sounds like an easy step for travis maybe it could be usefull to create another jira-account (@ossrh) which only has privileges to deploy to the snapshot repo)
  • deployment should only be done by one of the 3 builds and only if all verification is successful
  • KISS (keep it simple and stupid)
@pathikrit the mentioned python-script looks a little stuffed. Maybe there is a more lightweight alternative
@ahaarrestad dont think push-policy should be restricted since a snapshot release will always be a snapshot and not a stable one

Hi... just getting started here.
Wondering what happened to 1.3? Was it ever released (ie: maven released) ? or is the 2.0-snapshot the only available version in sonatype.org ?
If the answer is yes... do you know when 2.0 will be released?
Would be nice to have a stable/released version to base my app. on.
André Behrens
@serious6
We are currently planing the 2.0 release milestone. Therefore everybody is invited to declare issues that need to be fixed before the deployment is done. Maybe for not breaking packages again a restructuring of the classes in packages and subpage would be useful. This could be handled like it is in the ews-managed-api.
André Behrens
@serious6
while thinking on that package restructuring I would suggest in not doing this with the 2.0 release since this would force every user to update their imports which could be dangerous if people just change maven dependency from snapshot to stable. Maybe we can include these restructuring into another major release. I think this would make live easier.

Can anybody tell me if the old timezone setting problem from ews 1.2 has been fixed already?
Mike Noordermeer
@MikeN123
Dunno what specific problem you are referring to, but there have been tons of timezone/data parsing fixes, like OfficeDev/ews-java-api#6
Stefan Gantner
@gantners
Mike Noordermeer
@MikeN123
You can just use UTC, the date and time will be shown in the user's timezone anyway.
jvh003
@jvh003
Thanks for the response on 2.0. Agree that re-org on imports type of change would be nicer in next version.
So what about 1.3? Seems it never did get released?
Mike Noordermeer
@MikeN123
Nope, and 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 etc. weren't released either ;)
Pathikrit Bhowmick
@pathikrit
for that matter 2.0 wasn't released either. only snapshots are available.

Have noticed something a little strange with getUserAvailability(). Testing with exchange 2010 server.
It seems that the TimeWindow start & end should be set in UTC, but the calendar events (CalendarEvent)
coming back (ie: start & end times) are in local time.
Is this correct?
or am I missing something here?
( I was comparing to the 1.1.5 version of this pkg, where all times send & rec'd were in UTC ).
jvh003
@jvh003
( oops... for 1.1.5 version... only times rec'd in UTC, not sent )
Mike Noordermeer
@MikeN123
Not sure, but you shouldn't trust the timezone of java.util.Date's anyway
If you want to print it, make sure to put it through a formatter
jvh003
@jvh003
I think I understand the source of my problems here... it seems that if you ask for a time window that is say from the start of today to the end of today (eg: start: feb 20 00:00:00, end: feb 21 00:00:00) you'll actually get all the schedule events (mtgs) that exist in the last 24 hr window from the current time.
It doesn't seem to give you events that will occur after the current time stamp.
For example its 7:00pm now... if I query using the above start,end I don't get an event/mtg that is schedule to start at 8:00pm. But I do see a mtg that was schedule at 9:00pm on Feb 19th, which is out side of my start, end window. But within the actually 24hr window back from the current time stamp.
Can anyone verify my findings?
jvh003
@jvh003
Disregard that last post.
I played around a bit more and it's more a timezone/conversion problem.
I'm not getting the window (start,end) that I'm expecting.
If I query for feb 20 00:00:00 to feb 21 00:00:00, I'm actually getting feb 19 19:00:00 to feb 20 19:00:00.
Mike Noordermeer
@MikeN123
File a bug, preferably with some example code, and maybe even try to fix it yourself? :)
Make sure you are using the latest snapshot though, all other versions have major timezone bugs
pmulac
@pmulac
Question - is the ews-java-api available to download or accessible from a central repo? I'd like to avoid building from source
Erik van Paassen
@evpaassen
@pmulac There's no stable build yet, but you can find snapshot releases in the central snaphots repository. Please see #1 for more information.

hi, for your information: I will be on holiday from 11/03/15 to 15/03/15 19:00 (MEZ)
Mike Noordermeer
@MikeN123
Enjoy your holiday! In case you're coming to dig holes on our beaches then drop by for a beer ;)

@serious6
hi how do you guys think about registering ews-java-api for a member account at the JetBrains Open Source Support Program? This will enable us to get free-licenses for IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate.
Mike Noordermeer
@MikeN123
We're already using IntelliJ commercially (so we have to pay anyways), but I can highly recommend the software :)
André Behrens
@serious6
I just used the community edition so far. But this sounds interesting.

@cdram
Hi! is there a way to get notifications when someone shares their calendar with an user?
i dont need the complete meeting details, just a notification that a calendar is shared with the user....
would really appreciate any help on this...
Serhii Solohub
@Q1nt
Hi all!
As far as I see, in microsoft.exchange.webservices.data.EwsUtilities on lines 868 and 881 already setted correct (UTC) timezone, so no needed to convert dates into UTC as it mentioned here https://github.com/OfficeDev/ews-java-api#date-and-time-zone ?
Please confirm that my understanding is correct.
Thanks in advance!
Victor Boctor
@vboctor
@serious6 I've also been using the community edition. Does the job for me since I only use it for this open source project. I'm OK with registering the project there.
@serious6 I've setup the ability to created encrypted secure values for Travis CI. Let me know which value you need and I'll encrypt and provide.
André Behrens
@serious6
encrypted vars are stored and we are now autodeploying to maven central with our snapshots
Victor Boctor
@vboctor
Excellent.

Hey guys, I'm trying out ews-java-api on a project of mine. I'm only checking to see if i can connect with the exchange server, but i keep getting an error message. " java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: No virtual method setConfig(Lorg/apache/http/client/config/RequestConfig;)V in class Lorg/apache/http/client/methods/HttpPost; or its super classes (declaration of 'org.apache.http.client.methods.HttpPost' appears in /system/framework/ext.jar)" Maybe some of you can see what it is? I have no idea.
jrmathletics
@jrmathletics
Might be the completly wrong place to ask though.
André Behrens
@serious6
how do you try imprting ews-java-api. Did you clone the repo, are you using a jar from maven or a jar build on your own?
Mike Noordermeer
@MikeN123
Sounds like a wrong httpclient version to me :-)
jrmathletics
@jrmathletics
I downloaded the zip, and copied the three .jar files over to my /lib/-folder
André Behrens
@serious6
yes you should be referencing the needed httpclient version try using 4.3.5. But I am still wondering which jars you took cause there should be no jar in the downloadable zip?!
