    Hi @TimEvens @philodavies , I am facing a Grafana error "x509: cannot validate certificate for 172.17.0.1 because it doesn't contain any IP SANs". Did you by chance encounter that? I added datasource url as "172.17.0.1:5432".
    Phil D
    @philodavies
    You need to set the datasource as require not verify-full
    under SSL mode

    @dgedia
    ahh... that was a quick fix. Thanks @philodavies

    Hi, i'm new in Grafana, i found it very interesting. In the page of security i saw that you use a static JSON for the demo. Where do you retrieve the information about BGP hijacks?
    Tim Evens
    @TimEvens
    You can view the live BGP Hijacks/leaks and outages at: http://rv-obmp.cisco.com:3000/d/000000005/bgp-sec-hijack-leak?orgId=2 and via https://gitter.im/snas/alerts. The backend code that does this is not released as open source, yet. It's currently a PoC to illustrate how the system can be used to intelligently (via leaned associations/analytics) monitor BGP leaks/hijacks.

    Thank you very much :)

    @TimEvens is there a script / tool that will download all the required items from routeviews and pass them into the collector?
    CW
    @WilcoC_gitlab
    also: https://github.com/OpenBMP/openbmp-mrt2bmp#install-dependencies is missing apt-get install libyaml-dev libpython2.7-dev
    at least for bionic
    CW
    @WilcoC_gitlab
    cool, i made it crash: /usr/sbin/run: line 73: 44 Segmentation fault (core dumped) /usr/bin/openbmpd -f -l /var/log/openbmpd.log -c ${OPENBMP_CFG_FILE}
    Tim Evens
    @TimEvens
    @WilcoC_gitlab , mrt2bmp downloads and transmits the MRT data files to the collector. When you say you made it crash, can you send me the output of "docket logs" showing where it crashed?
    Tim Evens
    @TimEvens
    @WilcoC_gitlab , ubuntu uses apport which doesn't work in docker by default. Can you update your kernel settings using the below so that a core file can be produced?
    sudo sysctl -w kernel.core_pattern="/tmp/core.%e.%p.%h.%t"
    That will cause the container to produce the core files to /tmp/core*
    @WilcoC_gitlab , when it crashes again, it would be great if you can email/google drive the core file.
    @WilcoC_gitlab , you can email me at tim@openbmp.org

    @WilcoC_gitlab
    @TimEvens yeah i am looking into it, it seems to buckle of several routers start sending on the same time ... if there is a more gradiant sending, it goes better
    @TimEvens i might have found a bug, putting in multiple routeviews only the last process started those entries will show in grafana
    Tim Evens
    @TimEvens
    @WilcoC_gitlab, that’s not a bug. The default hashes by router IP and if you run everything from the same host it appears as one router. You can change this behavior by editing the /config/openbmpd.conf and change pat_enabled to true. This will change the hashing to hash by INIT sysName. The config documents this https://github.com/OpenBMP/openbmp/blob/master/Server/openbmpd.conf
    The crash might be related to not having pat_enabled. I’ll run some test with that, but if you have a core file, that would be best

    @WilcoC_gitlab
    ill have a look later next week, i have to switch the lab config for some forensic stuff now

    Hi, why is Grafana Live Demo (BGP Hijacks/leaks and outages) down?
    Tim Evens
    @TimEvens
    @heliodrone , looks like a driver failure. Checking
