5000+ images definitely won’t work on that size of a machine. You either need to rent or buy something larger. Even WebODM.net is capped at around 3000 images. We’re working on an approach to process much larger datasets, but completion of that work is a couple months off yet.

OK, thanks. FYI , ODM crashed with 2105 matches in the matches folder.
Is there anyway I can save the matches that were made and finish the reconstruction on what what completed?
Gerry Gabrisch
@gerry1138
For example what rerun parameter would I use to take advantage of the matches that were made?

I created a subset of these data (~420 images) and ran the process again and got an error. I posted the error on GIS Stack Exchange. https://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/313163/open-drone-map-returns-error-on-merging-depthmaps

i tried to process 1500 images with webodm.net , it still processing from last 10-15 days , what could be issue ?

Hi, I'm new in the community... and looking for the best channels where to comunicate. I've errors creating account via basuic auth or OAuth in https://community.opendronemap.org/ . are there more channels or community resources?
among other things I'm trying to use GCPi to setup GCPs using geotiff... because I've a already an almost well referenced Geotiff that I need to correctly orthorectify. The reason to use GCPi and not QGIS or GRASS is because my images and applications have to be in the cloud => better a web application.
Luigi Pirelli
@luipir
I'm trying to patch GCPi to manage Geotiff but before to do effort on this, better to ask if there are other better FOSS4G solutions that can help

P.S. now entered in https://community.opendronemap.org/ probably a temporary problem
well... something does not work... cannot login after logout!

Does processing in intel processor or amd processor matters? or is it agnostic of the processor
?

@sripad96_gitlab
@smathermather coould you please go through the forum and take a look at that?
Jorge Gustavo Rocha
@jgrocha
@sripad96_gitlab Maybe you can have problems if you choose to use the docker version. But ODM components are open source and you are able to compile them all. You can also try WebODM as a service, provided by @pierotofy
Sripad Sahu
@sripad96_gitlab
I am able to run WebODM without any issue.
and i Have installed ODM natively that, but I was facing the same issue with the Docker version also.
Does it have something to do with the processor in used?
Intel processor vs AMD?
It shouldn't matter right ?
Jorge Gustavo Rocha
@jgrocha
Right. So, what issues did you found?
Sripad Sahu
@sripad96_gitlab
This came into my mind because I have tried running it an another system with having INtel i7(EC2 instance and my local system) and it ran without any error but if I use a AMD ryzen then it fails at the above mentioned step.
I tried running docker on windows, running a virtual environment with Ubuntu 16.04 and native 16.04 , all have the same problem
so hence my assumption that it has something to do with the processor itself.

Hi, ODM 0.7 recently launched with split merge processing. I am not able to find any good documentation how to use with odm command line and how it works.
Can you let me know any documentation or steps how i can process images using split-merge method for saving execution time
Sripad Sahu
@sripad96_gitlab
@katarias_gitlab did u go through the wiki?
try this
sahil kataria
@katarias_gitlab
@sripad96_gitlab yes but i was confused , how --split option work which gives an option parameter

With latest ODM "MVE for dense point clouds" and pointcloud filtering added.
How to bypass those and run specific function like generation of texturing /orthophoto without mve and filtering as it's taking extra time

Sorry... I'm not sure if i am in the right place here, but I've tried to get an account for the forum of opendronemap.org, apparently the account got created, but a confirmation email etc never arrived in my inbox / spam folder...
Any help yould be greatly apreciated... Where can i turn to?

Hello everyone
I am looking to use ODM to generate ortho image and point cloud which is working fine. Now I want to do measurement that will also include elevation as well. Can anyone please take tell me how can I retrieve elevation values?
Adam Steer
@adamsteer
hey @saurabhgulati - you could export a DEM from ODM and inspect it in QGIS, or view the point cloud in something like CloudCompare and inspect points
saurabhgulati
@saurabhgulati
Hi @adamsteer Actually I want people to do measurement in my web app that I am developing.
Is DEM going to provide me elevation values of each point?
Adam Steer
@adamsteer

Thats up to your web app :D

The Potree point cloud viewer has tools built in to pick point elevations. For raster DEMs, I don’t know any web tools off the top of my head - sorry.
