@ScottIsAFool
Those are the current choices, but that is blog type dependent on whether you have the option of a page.
Sébastien Ros
@sebastienros
thanks, will dig further then
Joe Audette
@joeaudette
@sebastienros pretty sure that what gets surfaced in the UI of OLW depends on what is in the wlwmanifest.xml file of the site/app. there are attributes there for indicating that pages are supported which determine whether olw gives an option for creating pages. I implemented metaweblog api in my simplecontent project with support for posts and pages.
Sébastien Ros
@sebastienros
Thanks Joe, will take a look at it. You better than anyone know why I am asking ;)
Joe Audette
@joeaudette
I figure you're implementing it for orchard2?
Sébastien Ros
@sebastienros
yeah, last step before blogs support is complete. And while I am at it I assumed I'd better support any kind of content.
Not that a big task I as I am porting most of the code from O1
Joe Audette
@joeaudette
I have a re-useable implementation of metaweblog api here, just inject an implementation of the service methods. though I'm sure there are other implementations for .net core by now there wasn't when I built this
Sébastien Ros
@sebastienros
cool, we already had this in orchard too. Not sure I want to look at yours, I could like it ...
hit me, I clicked the link
In orchard there is another layer actuall, XmlRpc, and metaweblogs is just one of the providers (this only one technically)
Joe Audette
@joeaudette
mine is not a general xmlrpc solution it is specific to metaweblog api methods. seemed like the old cook computing xmlrpc library source code disappeared when google code went down. I remember looking for it
Sébastien Ros
@sebastienros
I am not saying the orchard solution is how it should be done ;) theorically it is, in practice it's futile. Just porting as it's easier for me right now.

I'd like to install a dictionary but I can't. I use to have it with MS WLW but with OpenLW is not working. I don't even see any language in the option list . Can anyone help, please? Thx

Hello, I am a newbe.
Can anyone help me to get a solution for pinterest sharing not showing images of posts in Blogger published by OpenLiveWriter?

@chewyland
Anything going on here?
David Gardiner
@flcdrg

So unfortunately I think the answer is "no", though I'd love to be proved wrong.

After all the effort Microsoft made to get this open sourced, it is looking very much abandoned.

Not from lack of enthusiasm from people wanting to help, but it appears the maintainers are all too busy on other things.

I've got two PRs that have been pending for 10 months now. Not much incentive to keep submitting more if those aren't being processed.

branpurn
@branpurn
I'm not totally pessimistic. The last dev communication was in the latter portion of 2016 and projects that die tend to have far sparser communication than that...

@eriawan
This repo is not quite active. I agree with @branpurn
Scott Lovegrove
@ScottIsAFool
We're trying to kick-start it again. Stay tuned.
David Gardiner
@flcdrg
As @ScottIsAFool says, things appear to be moving again. Those two PRs I mentioned earlier just got merged by @jongalloway today.

Support is working well for me with @ScottIsAFool sorting out a HTTPS issue I was facing :dancers:
Howl
@karst10607
I am coming back for OLW because I realized I still need to post on Google Blogger, not just some random thoughts in my private confluence space
OLW would be very beneficial to the world for anyone who want to share their medicine experience
Howl
@karst10607
I just report and post some medicine info that is not a good replacement for Prozac. In my country, hospitals start to replace Prozac with some inferior products, this has caused great danger for patients and people around them.
So keep going, OLW!
Eriawan Kusumawardhono
@eriawan
@flcdrg good for you. I'll recreate my PR about cleaning unused namespace then. it was closed long time ago before.
David Gardiner
@flcdrg
FYI @jongalloway has created an AppVeyor build so if you want to kick the tyres (or tires for my US friends) of the newest build then download the .exe from https://ci.appveyor.com/project/dotnetfoundation/openlivewriter/build/artifacts
luzmacabra
@luzmacabra
The tried to boot open writer live but there is no way. What do you advise me to do? I really need it. I can start from scratch. Thank you
Scott Lovegrove
@ScottIsAFool
@luzmacabra Can you please go to http://smallestdotnet.com, install .NET 4.6, reboot, then try and launch Writer again.

@survivor303
hi
any high resolution support coming to olw?
David Gardiner
@flcdrg
@survivor303 I contributed some fixes that were included in the latest release (around fixing the categories dropdown and some of the dialog rendering). If there are any other problems you're seeing then feel free to create a Github issue (if there isn't one already)
Janne Granström
@survivor303
@flcdrg great, on 4k resolution, the application itself isn't respect windows scaling options, so everything inside of a owl application windows is very small :/

@darianknight_twitter
I'm not entirely sure if this has been mentioned already, but in the recent version of OLW 0.6.2 embedded videos no longer are able to be resized or centered in the blog when editing. There is also an invisible container left behind when deleting the embedded video which also must be selected and deleted or else it still inserts the video when the blog is published.

Greetings - I hope this portal is the active one. I am .NET developer, seasoned SQL, MS Access Developer (MsAcc 2.0), FoxPro, Dbase, Omnis, I am mostly dedicated to Bootstrap, Blogger (search indexing), ASP.NET all flavors and currently developing Blogger Templates (in progress). I have a personal story I am telling via blogs which I will reveal in the coming months. I am hoping OLW lives on in spite of certain issues it saves time. Something programmers never have enough of is TIME
Eriawan Kusumawardhono
@eriawan
hi @ScottIsAFool and @jongalloway, is this repo still active?
If it is, I would like to continue to resubmit my PR about cleaning up codes and cleaning up namespaces.

We're trying to kick-start it again. Stay tuned.

@ScottIsAFool is there a continuation then? it's been a year, though.. :worried:

I had an email from Jon a few weeks ago stating that it isn't dead and that he was going to try to get something going after he finished with Build.
