Ah yes its fairly fast at the moment! I currently have the dolphin brain loaded and have been looking at slices past 124 but it fairly regularly is freezing/warping like so:
katja heuer
@katjaq
:/
Roberto Toro
@r03ert0
argh.... the thing is that the red mask is stored locally (in your computer) but the brain images come from the server
when there's a lag, the red mask updates instantaneously and the brain image comes later
i don't know if i'm using image caching right : (
TomMaullin
@TomMaullin
It usually catches up! It's fine now:
image.png
but often when I switch slices it does this again and can take a long time to catch up
Earlier I could have sworn it was happening when I was editing a slice but now I don't seem to be able to replicate this error

Morning everyone!
i'm working on some styling issues and I'm seeing a lot of inline CSS in the mustache templates, is there a reason for this or can I move some in the stylesheets?
Roberto Toro
@r03ert0
hi @austinjk ! Yes, we need to take all the 'graphic design' css out of the templates, and leave exclusively the 'functional' one. More generally, our css is still a mess despite several efforts for making sense of it... do you know of a tool for managing it?
Austin
@austinjk
hey @r03ert0, I've started tinkering with a rewrite/port to VueJS. Not much is working for now apart the homepage but I think it can be really promising.
you can check it out on my fork here https://github.com/austinjk/BrainBox/tree/austin/vue-test
to test it cd into the "client" folder and "npm install" then "npm run dev"

Hi @r03ert0 and @katjaq , I saw your talk at the last ISMRM and I was keen on trying BrainBox, the GUI looks really nice with the data from the predefined list, but when I try to visualize my data (that I uploaded on Google Drive) I get a blank BrainBox page and nothing happens! Any advice?
katja heuer
@katjaq
hello @matteomancini Thank you for your feedback! :) Happy to hear you would like to try!
Data from Google Drive can be visualised by
1) right click --> get sharable link
2) You need to replace "open" in the link by "uc", so that the link in the end looks like
https://drive.google.com/uc?id=.....
Please note: Google drive attempts to do a virus scan for each file which we found no way of a work around :( . So for files >50MB, Google drive will not work, but Dropbox does :)
Let me know if it works and if we can help further :) And then enjoy!! :D

Hi @katjaq thank you for the detailed instructions, it worked and I was able to look at a volume of mine
I have another question: I have tried running locally brainbox following the instructions on github (both the docker and the non-docker ones)
I managed to have it running, but for some reason in both cases the webpage is not rendered correctly (e.g. mp4 too big, text not aligned) and the 'Go' button is not button, just text, making it impossible to load any file
Is it something you came across? Am I missing any dependency or do I need to use a specific version of one of the packages (docker? node?)?
Thanks again for the help!
(P.S.: I've tried both on Firefox and Chromium, so it shouldn't be a browser issue)
katja heuer
@katjaq
Great to hear you can see your volume! :)
oh no! locally doesn't work! hmm, I will check if I can think of anything!
what did the npm install say? any errors there?
check your versions of node
and npm
to see if they are up to date
I just cross checked the website – I need to update the non-docker intsallations!! I am sorry
2 steps missing
will send you
it is npm install
npm run prepare
katja heuer
@katjaq
npm run build
npm start
the run prepare and run build are currently needed, not yet integrated in a nicer starting up format :) sorry!! will come, but this is our current work in progress
hope this will make it turn
I am not using the docker installation, and wouldn't be able to give feedback on this one)
and then hopefully it renders correctly :) and you can try links to online data , or add files to your local repo and work completely offline (adding you data file into public/yourFolder/yourData.nii.gz and then you can access it at
http://localhost:3000/mri?url=http://localhost:3000/yourFolder/yourData.nii.gz
katja heuer
@katjaq
but if you are worried about your data, you could also create a non-public project on BrainBox (create a new project and just set the rights of the anyone user to nothing)
but hopefully your local setup will work allright and you will become our next contributor <3 :D \ö//
@matteomancini
:)

@matteomancini
Thank you for the prompt reply @katjaq ! So I have followed the updated instruction, and I get some error messages for 'npm run build' -> https://justpaste.it/4dwdt
apparently there is something wrong with loading the atlasmaker modules, although the files are all there
I'm still able to do 'npm start' but the result is as before (misrendered webpage, no actual 'Go' button)
npm version is 5.6.0 and node version is 8.11.3
