    @tmmorin
    hey :) nice to see you here
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    😊

    let me just take the opportunity: any idea when ExaBGP 3.5 would ship, that would allow to drop the bagpipe-bgp branch which has its own fork of exabgp, and switch to the new branch that depends on everything we added/cleaned'up in exabgp 3.5
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    ExaBGP 3.5.0 will not happen, ExaBGP 4.0.0 will. I spent the last month rewritting fully the configuration parser - this is not completed but well under way and has reached feature parity with 3.4. Next to do is a cleanup of the NLRI ( with INET, LABEL, MPLS - currently LABEL does not exists ), of the FSM (which is wrong on master). Then I have 4/5 features request that need to go in 4.0. So … the short answer is surely at the end of the summer.
    Do you want me to create a bagpipe-bgp branch ? You could use it with git-submodule to do what you need now ?
    Thomas Morin
    @tmmorin
    that seems like a good idea
    you would branch out the bagpipe-bgp branch out of current master
    and we would have to work to keep bagpipe-bgp in sync with future master
    then eventually have bagpipe-bgp switch to master when 4.0 is ready
    ?
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    Do you want me to first do the NLRI cleanup ?
    As I assume it would affect your code.
    Thomas Morin
    @tmmorin
    it looks like a good idea
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    Then you have a stable point to release from.
    Thomas Morin
    @tmmorin
    in fact I was trying to have bagpipe-bgp work with current exabgp master and I just found a few issue
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    Ok - I will focus on this first, then create the branch for you.
    Thomas Morin
    @tmmorin
    I'm currently pushing a few changes to you
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    Oh, sorry to hear that, anything I can help you with ?
    Thanks a lot !
    I am sorry I am not going to Prague. I was planning to, but I just injured myself ( ankle sprain ) and I think it is better for me to not travel !
    But if you need anything just drop me a line !
    Thomas Morin
    @tmmorin
    not cool for you ankle, we'll have to find another opportunity to meet !
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    sport injuries .. happens ! I am sure we will have another occasion to cross path :-)
    Thomas Morin
    @tmmorin
    yes :)
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    Enjoy Prague, it is a lovely city and the Hilton is well placed to go and have a look around
    Thomas Morin
    @tmmorin
    thanks -- and yes indeed, Prague is great
    two IETFs already happened there
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    Currently ExaBGP has MPLS and MPLSVPN as two different classes.
    I see no need for the separation, do you have any objection for them to be collapsed ?

    @etowah
    anybody here?
    Luke Hinds
    @lukehinds
    hi @tmmorin , are you there?
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    @lukehinds You may be better opening an issue on github if you have a question ...
    Luke Hinds
    @lukehinds
    its ok, i got him over email
    Thomas Morin
    @tmmorin
    this project has now moved to openstack/networking-bagpipe, we'll thus use irc.freenode.net #bagpipe instead of this gitter
    see you there!
    Thomas Mangin
    @thomas-mangin
    sniff, sniff, goodbye !
