I think people are still using it so it should stay alive up untill someone decides to turn the switch off but nothing like that should happen soon
ok. thanks @Skrypt
Lombiq and guys from Lazer still use it a lot
And Sebastien is still merging PR's on Orchard 1
Well the plan changed since they announced that .net 5.0 will merge everything in a single framework
So technically we should be able to run Orchard 1.10.x eventually in .net core ...
But the dev focus is on Orchard Core because everything is already rebuilt using best design practices using .net core ...
So, it's a grey zone there because I can't predict the future. But I can say that OC is the way to go if you want to plan things for your clients. Because most of the devs are active on it and really less focused on 01.
Hi guys, can I ask a question please? I need to determine if the page I am currently on has been modified since last loaded. I need to do that in JS. I know that one way is to look at the Last-Modified header, but Orchard is not sending that header. Basically, I need to know if the page I am currently on, should be refreshed or not yet, and all that in JS behind the scenes. Thanks.
Hello everyone, could anyone advice me about forums please?. I am looking for a tutorial on a simple Forum (not nested replies), that I can implement into my current ASP.NET Core application, I have dug around online a bit but I could not find anything that suits. Thanks in advance!
@x00140684 I'm afraid Orchard won't help much here. There is a forum module but it's quite basic and not updated any more.
@Piedone Let me follow the references you shared and see if I can get it done. If not, I will let you know. Maybe we can have a support call or something. Will get back to you. Thanks for your help.
Hi everyone. I'm currently looking into possible solutions for building an internal gamification application for my company. I think a CMS can help and I'm looking particularly into orchard because of its modules and headless version. I have very limited knowledge of cms systems since I've never used one for real/big projects, just some simple blogs
Do you think OrchardCore can be useful for this use case? Can you recommend good resources to start? Is Headless Recipe the way to go here?
@rms81 Wrong channel, look for OrchardCore
ups... sorry :)
Hello, how can I change published date of the ContentItem? I have manully imported blog posts from the previous system into Orchard Core and this is the only thing I'm missing to complete refactoring.
Hello, guys I'm facing issue to switching database from SqlCe To MySql in Orchard CMS
@Piedone Thank you for your tutorial. It is in .NET Framework 4.5.2, so I assume you are taling about legacy Orchard. I have deployed Orchard Core (OrchardCore.Application.Cms.Targets).
Yeah, because this room is for Orchard 1, for Orchard Core check out https://gitter.im/OrchardCMS/OrchardCore :). But there is also an orchard-core branch in that repo where we have the same tutorials for Orchard Core!
Hi, I am new to Orchard and basically I am looking for an C# .Net Framework MVC (Not .Net Core) free and open-source cms that I can download customize and sell to clients in the same fashion as we can do with Wordpress. So I have 2 questions: 1) Does Orchard license allow me to do that? Download code base for free, customize it and seel to clients like WordPress? 2) Is .Net Standard version of Orchard being replaced by a .Net Core version? Could anyone clarify that for me, I got confused when I look at the website because it seems like .Net version is no longer going be developed and it seems that is being replaced by a .Net Core version?
Hi, maybe I am silly, but I have to update a Orchard 1 Installation. The production server is a mssql 2016. Now I wanted to create a dump and import it into a sql ce file. But I cannot get the dump right that the sql ce can create the database. Am I missing something? - Thanks
Thanks. Got it working with localdb ;)
Hi, is the "ReCaptcha Users"-Feature for the Login-Form at the admin-page? If so, how can display it. (I already enabled it and configured the settings, but it's not showing)
@marcelowebsite the git repo has all the information you need, also consider give back to the community.
@3x0dv5 give me one reason to give back to a community that I cannot even get a yes or no answer to a couple of questions. I am a software engineer and not a lawyer, if I could make sense of that license I wouldn't be here in a community forum asking about it.
The Licence says that you can do whatever you want with the code as long as you don’t use the Orchard branding. BTW your comment was pretty condescendent and I do not appreciate this kind of things. We owe you nothing as far as I know. You could have searched for the answer or read the licence to know that. Thanks.
Guys is there anything fancy to do in order to upgrade from 1.10.2 to 1.10.3
I tried just dropping an inplace upgrade but there're references to 1.10.2 assemblies which just prevent the app from loading and I'm unable to track 'em down.
I can't say like that. Maybe you need to go on the github repo and see each .csproj files to make sure you did not do a bad merge.
Else, maybe old custom modules that are not loading
Those could be dynamically loaded with the app
Hey Guys, What's the stable latest version of Orchard core...isn't Orchard 1.10.3?
I'm a developer for a manufacturer that wants to integrate a CMS to their existing website, and I've been playing with Orchard and Orchard Core. It's my understanding that Orchard CMS is recommended because Orchard Core is still in development (and I haven't had a smooth ride with trying to use it).
