Hey guys, Did you experience this issue with basic blog recipe? "One or more compilation references may be missing. If you're seeing this in a published application, set 'CopyRefAssembliesToPublishDirectory' to true in your project file to ensure files in the refs directory are published."

Nevermind, i got latest from previews and seems fixed.

Hi, I'm trying to create a workflow that updates another content item after updating one content item. In the first step, I want to get the Id of the item from the updated item, which will be further updated. Example: Item A also contains the Id of item B. The workflow must start when item A is updated. I search for item B using the ID that is inserted in the content of item A, and then item B is updated.
How to call up the content field from item A, e.g. Content.Order.CarID.Text?

We are using legacy Orchard 1.10.3. Is it possible to enable reverse proxy on it? Can someone point me to any documentation on this? Thank you!

please contact me asap Orchard team

@ciozmi You can also ask the guys from Lazer and open up an issue on Orchard repository. Though Kentor.OwinCookieSaver
It's been deprecated and has a lot of critical bugs reported.
So the issue is maybe there.
When this library was created, back in 2014, this was a viable solution to the Owin Cookie problem. It no longer is. Please do not use it, instead follow the Microsoft Recommendation to use a SystemWebCookieManager.

for anyone interested, it can be done easily by changing the name property in the authentication->form element in the web.config, as shown here https://stackoverflow.com/a/23344395/3782469

When I am creating content, and open up my Media Library, which is mapped to an Azure Blob container, I see all of the folders/directories there, but it's not showing any of the images in the area that would normally show the image files. Any idea why this might be? Do I have to manually add each file in Azure Blob to my media library for it to be recognized? Or does Orchard get a listing of files automatically from Azure?

Here is a screenshot of the "03-Fall-Winter" folder in Azure Explorer, I should see that .JPG file listed: https://www.screencast.com/t/QYrXcGb3QbiN

I might have asked this already:
Has someone ever done blue-green deployments of Orchard using a single server? We are looking for something that would allow us, on a single server running IIS:

  • Have a "live" BLUE Orchard instance, with several tenants
  • Deploy new releases on an "offline" GREEN Orchard instance. Warm it up.
  • Switch on the GREEN instance. Have traffic start to be routed to it. Maybe use an affinity cookie or something like that so that users that were doing stuff on BLUE have no surprises / inconsistencies.
  • When we can say no users are using the BLUE instance, switch it off.

On next release the "roles" of BLUE and GREEN are inverted.

We tried something using a farm with two sites (each with its on app pool) on IIS, but couldn't make it work properly. Maybe it was the right path?

Bonus if whatever process steps are needed to make this work are scriptable.

@MatteoPiovanelli-Laser: on a single server... I guess you could set two backend sites (with their own application pools) each listening on a different port then handling the frontend routing using ARR
Maranda

It sounds like the simplest solution, and I don't see why it shouldn't work out the box. It's also pretty easy to eventually switch off backend content servers (even gracefully to avoid requests on flight breaking).

thanks to everyone who replied. I'm looking at the things you proposed.

Another option is to implement a cookie session state provider(only if your session can fit in max cookie size ) so you dont need a redis instance for sharing serssion data
Matteo Piovanelli
@MatteoPiovanelli-Laser
right now I am not overly worried about session state, because we would likely set things up to drain users from the "old" site when we do a new deployment.
Matteo Piovanelli
@MatteoPiovanelli-Laser
we did a few configuration tests based on this post (https://kevinareed.com/2015/11/07/how-to-deploy-anything-in-iis-with-zero-downtime-on-a-single-server/) but we couldn't get it just right. If I recall correctly, we were having issues with ssl certificates and redirects. And I hadn't even gotten to subdomains and such.
Pavel Rotari
@RotariPavel
You could do SSL ofloading on always up site so SSL certificate will be one place only
Maranda
@maranda:aria-net.org
[m]
@MatteoPiovanelli-Laser: if you use IIS and ARR, install "Certify the web" and manage certificates with it then do SSL termination at the Default Web Site (you can do name based binding with SNI) that's where ARR will handle the web farm routing.

hello, I want to add support of tus (with tusdotnet) to my OC site and tus listens to the path /files. How can I ask OC to ignore handling the route /files? In startup, I need to call UseOrchardCore() first before UseTus() so to get the user identity.
