What's the best way to get a sortable list of content accessible by any other content item? I've already gotten my query to retrieve the list, but I need it to be user sortable. I seem to recall, @deanmarcussen that you had done some work with a sortable list?
Dean Marcussen

By using the list part n setting the enable ordering setting . Then they’re drag n droppable

Hey what would be the best approach to deploy a small orchardcore site to a remote windows server. It is a shared hosting plan... Do I use Web deploy and export the database to a sql script?

@sebastienros: I'm playing with Fluid tests, when I create an object to write to json with the misc filter, none of the properties are printed even though the AllowModelMembers is set to true when creating the TemplateContext. Is this by design?

Hey all, I'm having an issue with getting any results from a Lucene query when using "must_not". With the following template, I can get a single content item when switching the "must_not" to a "must", however when running with the "must_not" it returns nothing, when I'd expected to see everything but the specified content item ID. Anyone see anything obvious I'm doing wrong?
{
  "query": {
    "bool": {
      "must_not": [
        { "term": { "ContentItemId": "4ak2n0ebx0vm4x5mhjcez1vrw1" } }
      ]
    }
  }
}

Anyone can help me to fix that issue - OrchardCMS/OrchardCore#9560
Dean Marcussen
@deanmarcussen
you might need to use the CommitTransaction task / activity for SqLite if you are getting db locked @MohitNaroliya . Only required for sqlite

It took me for a while to understand why an HTML input has an empty value even though a view model has a value.

Normally when a model state has an error, we return an empty view model but it is not the case for Orchard that we return an output of HttpGet Edit method.

This means our view model has a value from a database which is different from a normal MVC action that we return an empty view model when getting a validation error.

This is new for me because I haven't realized how an HTML input is assigned a value.
It doesn't matter if a view model has value or not. If a model state has an error, an HTML input will be set value from a model state.

Does anybody know if Assets.json in a custom module work if we create a project from a command line tool not from Orchard Core source code e.g.

dotnet new occms --name Codesanook.Web
dotnet new ocmodulecms --name Codesanook.Map --AddPart True --PartName Map

Let's assume that Assets.json is a root of Codesanook.Map.
Here is project structure.

orchard-examples/
|--Codesanook.Web/
|--Modules/
  |--Codesanook.Map/Assets.json

Will Assset.json work and generate CSS from an input Sass file?

Super confused about the CORS module. I can't find it on NuGet. Is there another recommended approach now? I tried using the AspNetCore CORS package and can't seem to get it working with OrchardCore.

Do all images/fonts/CSS/JS files in wwwroot of a custom module get automatically embedded to a DLL file when using dotnet publish command?
Can access it as module-name/resource-name.extension?
Given I have logo.png in wwwroot of MyCustomModule project.
Here is how I can use it in an image tag. <img src='/MyCustomModule/logo.png' />.
Do I understand this correctly?

Strange issue...

{% assign taxonomy = Content.ContentItemId["xxxxxx"] %}

{{ taxonomy.ContentItem.Content.TaxonomyPart.Terms.size }}

prints 14 in home page and 7 in all other pages... 🤨

Taxonomy is localized and has 7 terms in each of the languages...
"xxxxxx" is the Id of the Greek version

Hi I was facing an issue. Whenever I delete an media and upload something new with the same name, the media file is not updated.
Anyone know what's the problem here?

@ScarySheep
I just realize my problem... It's kinda stupid. I went to check out the app_data and all files are updated as expected. The problem is chrome kept my images' cache despite me ctrl+f5 the webpage unless I open each one in a new tab and force reload them.

How to make the user_propertie_index auto put when update user.Properties by _userManager.UpdateAsync
mmdqq
@mmdqq
_session.Query<User, UserByLoginInfoIndex>(u => u.LoginProvider == LoginProvider && u.ProviderKey == ProviderKey).FirstOrDefaultAsync() not add a mapping record to UserByLoginInfoIndex,but _userManager.UpdateAsync can add a mapping record to UserByLoginInfoIndex,If i delete the record from UserByLoginInfoIndex. _session.Query aways return null,but the data still in user.Logininfos,why?
Dean Marcussen
@deanmarcussen
@mmdqq one is a query, the other is a save. a query doesn't add records to anything, it just checks what is there already. a save initiates the mapping of records. and yes if you manually delete the record, the data will still be in the json document, until that is removed as well. perhaps it would help to have a read of some of the YesSql docs https://github.com/sebastienros/yessql/wiki Regards the user.Properties we would recommend you use the .As<T>() and .Put<T>() extensions in OrchardCore.Entities. Why it isn't saving, is probably your index provider. It would need to retrieve the custom property, and add it to the custom MapIndex
