    Rahul Bothra
    @pro-panda

    Hello,
    I am Rahul Bothra(Pro-Panda), C.S. Sophomore at BITS, Pilani.
    I code, a lot in Python, making various small projects, while also using JS, C and Shell scripts frequently.

    I know basics of sockets and networking. I played around with the sockets library in python and netcat to transfer data amongst pc's in a network.

    I have worked on data encrypting scripts, cli, webiste(Django) and chatbots on facebook(Flask) and telegram. I also practice around with concepts and libraries in Python frequently

    I was really intrigued by P2PSP, and its projects. I would like to contribute to P2PSP during the summers as a GSoC student.
    I installed and tried using P2PSP on my PC, and am going through the codebase.

    Kindly guide me as to where can I start contributing, to work with the community on the project.

    Thanking you
    Rahul Bothra

    Hello @Pro-Panda, and welcome to our project. Thank you for your kind introduction. The most interesting pending problems to be solved are described as issues at: https://github.com/P2PSP/simulator, and we are specially interesting in solving: P2PSP/simulator#13 and P2PSP/simulator#9
    "See" you there!

    @utkarsh858
    Hi,
    I am Utkarsh Shukla, a C.S. Sophomore at IIT Roorkee.
    My special area of development is in javascript . Recently I helped my on-campus student group SDSLabs to develop a p2p media streaming website using vanilla WebRTC from scratch.
    I am interested in P2PSP organisation as it also specialises in media streaming. I had a briefly gone through the code of Virtual-Room and even fixed a bug in the UI .Also trying to fix some issues in Simulator. I would like to contribute to P2PSP via GSoC.
    Please help me to contribute to the projects , as to further work with the org.
    Thanks

    Hello @utkarsh858 Welcome to the P2PSP project, and of course, thanks for your contributions!
    Regarding your expertise with JS, we have some ideas related in the GSoC 2018. For example, ideas 4 and 5: http://p2psp.org/en/news/78-gsoc-2018-ideas-page
    But first, we recommend to try the current version of the protocol running a local team by following the instructions at https://github.com/P2PSP/I-want-to-use-it

    @pvgupta24

    Hello everyone,
    I am Praveen Kumar Gupta, 2nd year undergraduate student in National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, India.
    Github Profile : https://github.com/pvgupta24
    LinkedIn Profile : https://www.linkedin.com/in/pvgupta24/

    I have worked on web development projects in the past and have experience with MEAN stack and Django based applications. I have good understanding of the conventional programming languages and functional programming with Erlang. I recently worked on a web based Youtube Playlist application, which involved managing playlists for users.

    Currently, I have started working on a webRTC based Virtual Classroom project to allow better interaction between faculty and students.

    I came across P2PSP through Gsoc's Organizations' page and was really excited to see the work here and technology being used here as it matches my interest areas well.

    I have started working to understand the code base and the work flow.
    Any suggestions or guidance would be really appreciated. :)
    I want to work on open-source projects to get the experience of working with others and getting reviews and guidance along the way.

    Thank you  :)

    @rudhman it sounds as a problem in the peer instance. Could you ensure that it is running?

    @cristobalmedinalopez
    Hi @pvgupta24 Welome to the P2PSP project. Yes, we have some WebRTC based ideas. Our Virtual-Room project is a perfect example. If you are interested in, you could take a look at https://github.com/P2PSP/Virtual-Room

    @vicente-gonzalez-ruiz
    Hello @Prem-kumar27. Thank you for your interest in P2PSP.org and welcome! The best places to start to collaborate with us are the ideas web-page (http://www.p2psp.org/en/news/78-gsoc-2018-ideas-page) and the pending issues at GitHub (https://github.com/P2PSP).

    Hello Everyone,
    I am Kunal Agarwal, third year Undergraduate student at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, pursuing my majors in Chemical Engineering and Minors in Computer Science & Engineering.
    I found the project about measuring the latency (#14) interesting and would like to contribute towards it for GSoc ‘18. I have done a course on Computer Networks, so have a basic idea about Socket Programming but am keen on learning more about it.
    I have worked with python in past and also have knowledge of C, C++ and MATLAB.
    Thank you

    General advice about proposals
    We took a look to the drafts. As a general advice, we recommend to answer at least the questions proposed here: http://p2psp.org/en/news/59-gsoc-application-template

    It's important to pay attention to the idea itself, and try to give as much information as possible: background, milestones, time scheduling, etc.

    Good Luck!

    @shubhamshree10
    Hi all, this is Shubham Shree from India
    I landed onto this project from GSOC'18 website.....I have query whether this project PlanetLab will be there or not in GSOC as it is kept as low priority ?
    Cristóbal Medina López
    @cristobalmedinalopez
    Hi @shubhamshree10 it will depend mainly on the proposal. If we read an excellent proposal with that project, it could be in GSoC 18.
    Cristóbal Medina López
    @cristobalmedinalopez
    @kabir50_twitter Hi! don't worry about that. If your only mistake is that you wrote a incorrect date, it is a minor problem ;)

    Gadila Shashank Reddy
    @gadilashashank

    Hello,
    I'm Shashank, CS sophomore at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, India. I found the
    P2P-Piped music project interesting and would like to contribute towards its development for GSoC'19 (or otherwise).
    As part of course work I've had courses on Computer Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms. I have experience
    in using Python, C/C++ and JavaScript/React. Currently I'm reading up on the P2PSP protocol and workflow.

    I would really appreciate any guidance or suggestions :)

    Thanks !

    Vicente González Ruiz
    @vicente-gonzalez-ruiz
    Hi @gadilashashank. Thank you for your interest in P2PSP and derivatives :-) The P2P-piped music would be a pretty implementation of P2PSP. The best thing that you can do right now (IMHO) is to revise the basic P2PSP document and try to understand it (it is not so difficult).
    Gadila Shashank Reddy
    @gadilashashank
    Hi. Thanks. I too feel that's the best thing I could do as of now.
    Aarjav Jain
    @aarjavjain1
    Hello Everyone, My name is Aarjav Jain, currently an undergraduate pursuing my B.E. in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, India. I have been developing websites and managing them for the last one year for my college and a start-up that I have worked with. I have a huge interest in Python and have worked on a lot of projects using them. I have basic understanding of technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript as well. I am new to Open Source and would love to contribute to this community. Also, I am targeting GSoC 2019. Any help on how to get started would be highly appreciated. Looking forward to be a part of P2PSP. Thanks!
    Cristóbal Medina López
    @cristobalmedinalopez
    Hi @aarjavjain1 Thanks for your interest in the P2PSP project. The first recommended think to do is to take a look here: https://p2psp.github.io/ and try to understand it.
    It's our basic protocol, and most of the proposed ideas revolve around it.
    Aarjav Jain
    @aarjavjain1
    Thanks, @cristobalmedinalopez ! I will take a look into this.
