Hi @hobu, I'm trying to set up an Appveyor build for Entwine. Do you know if it's possible to chain PDAL then Entwine builds on the same script or is there a better way ?
Would it be realistic to use OSGeo4W64 to provide PDAL for the Entwine build ?

Or maybe a nuget package ?

@Groutcho I have been working to get OSGeo4W64 packages of PDAL built. There are still some python issues I have yet to work out before I can build the packages, but I hope to have something in the next few weeks.

Great, this will simplify dependency resolution a lot!

I work on a virtual globe on Windows that can display Cesium 3D Tiles
We want to process LAS files into tiles

Is it a commercial product?

You'll need to keep your linkages clean because Entwine is LGPL

What does that involve exactly ? I won't be linking Entwine, I will only be using the executable as an external process

Connor has a lot more experience with point cloud 3DTiles, but I think the consensus is the spec needs a lot more work for large scale point clouds like we're doing with http://potree.entwine.io and http://speck.ly
what's there "works", but it isn't ideal at all
We are available for $upport if you want more responsiveness, btw.

Yes I know, but it's a basis. It will not be used to process large scale point clouds for now, more like 500-1000 MB LAS files. And Entwine proved efficient
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind
