@eugene-bulkin
kk
Cody Han
@codyhan94
what is coveralls
this looks cool
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
coverage thing
it waits for travis to run tests
and then provides a nice way of looking at how your coverage changed
Cody Han
@codyhan94
i see that. this is really cool. I wish i’d seen this earlier
Davidpena
@Davidpena
just added you

@Davidpena
Fixed GNU Plot problem PHB-CS123/graphene@57b9b1f
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
oh that's a thing
Davidpena
@Davidpena
"Right now someone who works for Facebook is getting tens of thousands of error messages and frantically trying to find the problem before the whole charade collapses. There's a team at a Google office that hasn't slept in three days. Somewhere there's a database programmer surrounded by empty Mountain Dew bottles whose husband thinks she's dead. And if these people stop, the world burns. "
I
I'm dying of laughter, you guys have to read this article
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
so uh
this is still a thing right
Davidpena
@Davidpena
Lol what?
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
lol like we have not met about this in a bit
I mean, I was getting rekt by 24 all week
this week's set is thread scheduling. ughhh
Davidpena
@Davidpena
Been in Miami and rekt by 38, but I'll send a push request before I'm back with some changes
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
cool, which stuff were you working on?
Davidpena
@Davidpena
Planning to do truncation and file reordering, first one is trivial, second is not since I wanna launch it on a separate thread so it doesn't block command line interface
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
when you say file reordering you mean defrag right
Davidpena
@Davidpena
Basically
Btw I added a quit to exit option to my webserver if you want to check it out
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
ooh nice
Davidpena
@Davidpena
Any ideas on how to make the defragging work with the cache layer?
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
uhhhh... I think I remember saying we'd talk about it later lol
when we meet up next time let's discuss that
Davidpena
@Davidpena
I'm thinking a mark and move approach (go through a file once and make a list of all the fragmented IDs, request enough IDs to move the highest fragments, and look in every file that has a reference to the item, and if found replace it with the new ID) this would take at least 2 file scans for the file being defragmented, and a single file scan for every reference file
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
is there not a more efficient way?
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
I'm gonna finish up booleans soon
it's a bit tricky but I think I've almost got it
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
it's pretty much done
sent in the PR, someone look at it later and confirm whether it's good for merge
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
actually whatever I'll just do the merge
lol
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
OK merge done
Davidpena
@Davidpena
Take a look at #11 whenever you can, I added some things to some tests @eugene-bulkin wrote and changed some implementation details, so it would be good to take a good look at the changes
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
@Davidpena everything looks fine, if the tests don't fail then I think you're good to merge #11 in
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
rip coverage
Davidpena
@Davidpena
lol what do you mean RIP coverage? Checkout #12 when you can, it's tiny, but I wanted to make sure I didn't remove write_item somewhere where it was needed
also when is the presentation?
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
no idea, donnie said he'd email us lol
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
so is this still a thing or
Eugene Bulkin
@eugene-bulkin
