@nickarsov @pkocmoud I am reading around on the MCU in the pixracer: STM32F427VI. Have I understood it right that by poking around at the right registers I can set up the USARTs to act as SPI devices, thus making one of the telem ports on the pixracer a SPI port? I have a hardware platform where I need to talk to an external device over SPI, and would love to be able to use the new PixRacer because of its elegance compared to the dated PixHawk.

Hi Morten, check the STM32F427 documentation and especially the remapping table. Also carefully check the SPI available to avoid reusing an already used one.

@nickarsow: Thank you for the info. I didn't find the "remapping table", are you referring to "table 12: alternate function mapping"?

I'm trying to find the maximum practical cable length I can use to connect a 3DR (uBlox LEA-6H) GPS + Compass Module to a PixHawk at 9600 kbps
My question is: "Is something between 1 to 1.5 meters practical?" My google searches all seem to yield results which dodge the question and suggest a RS422 converter. If 36" isn't achievable, but 18 inches is: that would be useful information to know...

Hi Morten, yes, that's it. You can also download the very useful ST program STM32CubeMX. With it you can see the alternative functions and remap any pin.
