Just restarted server, it looks like geth had locked up. It should be resynced / redrawn in about 5 min.
watching it now, i'll msg as soon as it finishes, I apologize for the delay
if u refresh the page, u should see ur tile (it's red now)
(u may need to disable caching or open in incognito if the page is cached)
if u click that same tile that u purchased, it should now come up with a a different window, one for setting the tile. U can specify an image, a URL to link it to (don't add http://), and optionally a price if u are trying to sell it (otherwise leave at 0)
OK, It work. Thank you.
you're welcome, thank you & I'm sorry it took so long for ur tile to show up!
I'll add some monitoring so that doesn't happen again
hi! I bought a tile but it's still white! I've done refresh and stuff. Does this work if I wait?
Hi! I see the transaction, let me see whats up with the server. Sorry about that!
It looks like it finally showed up, sorry about that! Make sure you clear your cache if u don't see it, let me know if it still doesn't work on your end. Thanks for letting me know!
got the tile! thanks
one thing. the automatic inclusion of http to the beginning of the link seems to be not properly spelled out. Ends up locating to http// instead of http:// could you take a look at that?
Yes for sure! Sorry about that, and thank you for letting me know. I love ur Mario question mark block!
Where can i purchase a tile and how?
not very familiar with the platform yet
Hi @Awesthetics -- I apologize for the long delay! To purchase a tile, you just have to open the website in either Mist (Ethereum web browser) or Chrome (with the Metamask plugin installed)
once you do, if you click a tile, it will allow you to purchase it :)
Hi.... how to play this game ?
Hello @stingc ! In order to buy a tile, you have to visit the website using either Mist, or have the metamask plugin installed in Chrome :)
I hope that helps!
I absolutely love the little pickaxe tile, thank you whoever added it! :)
What is this
Hi! It's a pixelmap that's very similar to the million dollar home page idea, however each tile is actually stored on the blockchain (including the data for each image, URL, and owner).
Basically, when someone buys a tile, they own the tile and can do whatever they'd like with it (including sell it to someone else)
This is pretty neat
Well thank you very much!! :D
apols in advance for the really dumb question, but what is the aim, why would I spend 2ETH for a tile?
not a dumb question at all--and not sure that I can even answer it. Each tile including the art is stored on the blockchain, so whatever you put on it should live as long as ethereum itself exists. Another part is being able to advertise (provided other people click the tile that you make, which obviously also depends on how much traffic this site ends up getting). Lastly, you can sell tiles as well for whatever price you'd like, although I don't think anyone would buy any right now for more than 2eth as there's plenty available. -- I know that probably doesn't answer your question, but hopefully it helps a bit! :)
Also, the contract, and all the code for running pixelmap is all open source/available -- you don't have to purchase a tile to use it, but whatever tiles you do add would be part of anything that someone uses that code to build with. Overall it's very similar to milliondollarhomepage.com from the 90s, but everything is distributed vs. being a single persons web server
are aftermarket prices in eth or wei or something else? Can you add units in the instructions, and on the edit window?
ps I am your 7th grade math teacher
also how big (in pixels lol) should we make our images
Hi. Each tile is 2eth, or are you talking about trying to resell one? I don't think you were my 7th grade math teacher lol--anyway, you'll want to make the tiles 10x10 pixels
