    Is there a forum, where I can post a couple of questions more? thanks.

    @joejac
    If it stores data in flat files, why it requires to install sqlite3 ? Can it work without installing sqlite3?
    joejac
    @joejac
    I already have Apache web server installed in a small VPS, can I use Apache instead of Nginx?
    Can I have a dropdown menu up to 3 levels deep, Horizontal or vertical?

    Hi joejac, the images are not scaleable in the editor. They will be automatically resized according to you template/theme and the selected alignment. If you really need a resized image, you can use the "embed code" to achieve it like this:
    <img src='https://www.ohnemotor.de/uploads/2018/10/41966153_2106356656296152_1600912016889659435_n.jpg' width='200px' />

    Data is not stored in flat files - sqlite3 is needed. The Data-File will be stored here: ./data/database.sq3

    Apache: why not ;) maybe this helps: Apache as Reverse Proxy

    Thanks a lot Martin for the information and link, I am really impressed with the concept, simplicity and aesthetics of Postleaf, unfortunately I have a very limited VPS hosting account and I need to have a CMS that uses the less amount of resources, the databases takes resources even for small websites. Anyway I want to try it, I have two last questions, and sorry if it is obvious for you:
    1.- How can I open the code of a page with the content editor in order to edit the HTML code of the page/post directly?.
    2.- How can I have a dropdown menu up to 3 levels deep, Horizontal or vertical? In the demo, I was trying to put a navigation item below another and I was unable to do so.
    Thanks a lot for your kind answers.
    Regards

    For a more detailed Apache tutorial: https://www.postleaf.org/running-postleaf-with-apache
    1. This isn't possible by design.
    2. Nested navigation isn't supported at the moment. Follow this issue: Postleaf/postleaf#24

    @joejac
    Thanks a lot Cory.
    1.- In the issue tracked I found this post, and Postleaf allows to embed HTML in the content part of the page, it is not ideal but I can use it meanwhile: Postleaf/postleaf#94
    2.- I up voted for the Nested Navigation, When do you estimate Nested Navigation will be available?
    3.- One additional question please: In Post Settings > Metadata > Image, is there a way to have an Image Slider?, so I can have 3 to 5 images with links to internal or external pages.

    1. I don't have the time right now. PRs are always welcome.
    2. This isn't currently possible. It would take significant changes to the UI, the backend, and the theme to accomplish that.

    Hello Cory, with regards to your post on https://www.abeautifulsite.net/how-to-upgrade-or-downgrade-nodejs-using-npm I upgraded node.js from the Centos 6.10 (VPS i686) repo version 0.10 to version 8, npm said it was updated, but node -v shows that it has same old 0.10 and thus, the node application that requires node.js V7, does not run. Is there a way to successfully update node.js on Centos with i686 architecture?
    Thanks and regards

    It would be useful to see the full input / output of your attempts. Have you tried picking up a specific version of node? Like sudo n 4.4.2 as mentioned in the link?

    However, you can choose NVM as the version manager of your node:
    https://nodejs.org/en/download/package-manager/#nvm

    joejac
    @joejac
    Thanks Ismael, I did:
    joejac
    @joejac
    Sorry, I did:
    1.- # n 8.12.0
    install : node-v8.12.0
    mkdir : /usr/local/n/versions/node/8.12.0
    fetch : https://nodejs.org/dist/v8.12.0/node-v8.12.0-linux-x86.tar.gz
    .... 100,0%
    installed : v8.12.0
    2.- Then: node -v
    v0.10.48 I did not understan why not v8...
    3.- I can not install nvm from Github, I downloaded ran the installer
    ./nvm.sh
    Then: # nvm
    bash: nvm: command not found
    4.- Any more ideas to have node working in such limited environment?
    Thanks a lot
    Ismaeel
    @callingmybluff
    So you have admin privilages and you do not need sudo n 8.12.0 ?
    joejac
    @joejac
    Yes I did everything directly using root, I know it is not advisable, but I am in Centos 6, I ensure that the directory and files have the right ownership and privileges to run the application. What I do not understand is why npm said installed : v8.12.0 with no errors and then node -v = v0.10.48 (?) so obviously I got a blank page and looking the source all the source and javascript code was there, but it did not run. Any idea, about this inconsistency among node -v and npm installer? And how can I install at least node.js v8?
    Directories are 755 and files 644 all owned by apache

    Cory, is there a way to generate a Sitemap-Site? I think it should be possible to use the #posts helper in a template file, but i could not figure out how to switch to the needed posts-context. I'm not looking for the sitemap.xml feature - this is working perfectly. I would like to give the visitor the ability to get an overview over my site/posts. Any hints?
    Ismaeel
    @callingmybluff
    @Salman_Miah10_twitter My first experience with NodeJS was with this app actually, and I believe following the installing steps is simple enough. Did you have a problem with it?
    Cory LaViska
    @claviska
    @xalps_twitter You can create sitemap.dust in your theme and customize the entire sitemap.xml file (the default is here). You can also use helpers to grab posts, authors, or whatever you need. However, if it doesn't fit inside a single sitemap.xml file you'll have to do it manually.
    Martin
    @xalps_twitter
    @claviska Thanks, Cory! I recently figured it out! I've missed the needed {@getPosts} before accessing the {#posts} ;)

    Hello!

    My first experience with the project on node.js :)
    Added Russian localization and refined the search for the Russian language https://github.com/gordienko/postleaf.
    I would be happy if ideas come true with your project.

    Hello

    I have app website at my domain on loopback and I want to add postleaf as a "mysite/blog" can someone explain how to set custom homepage my site page - index.html

    @cssninja
    Hello Cory (@claviska)! Yours is the first browser based CMS where I actually LOVE the editing UI (at the top of the page) .. well done. Question -- how easy would it be to use your platform for Bootstrap pages (non-blog) .. possible? I'm looking for an in-browser CMS for clients where they can do simple edits in the browser .. has to be a way!
    Cory LaViska
    @claviska
    @morpharc hosting Postleaf in a subdirectory isn't supported. You could probably get it working with a reverse proxy, but again, this is unsupported.
    @cssninja The editor is tightly integrated with the app, so not easy. I also run https://www.surrealcms.com/ which features a similar inline editor and lets you connect to websites over FTP, SFTP, S3 if that helps.

    @morpharc Dude I have been thinking of developing an editor that uses class="editable" (or the 'contenteditable' class) I just checked out surrealcms .. cool stuff .. so this would be suitable for the Bootstrap templates I design for clients?
    Cory LaViska
    @claviska
    Surreal CMS is great for static websites. It will also follow PHP includes, Server Side Includes, etc.

    Cory, could you tell me about the SEO for Postleaf? How does it do for canonical tags, Headers, metadata, etc?
    Cory LaViska
    @claviska
    Sitemaps, Open Graph, Twitter Cards, and JSON-LD are generated based on your post content and the metadata you set.

    Hi
    I want to run the app for the blog on mydomain/blog with Nginx.
    I use Nginx for reverse proxy and all my other app running on the different port is working with Nginx but I am not able to run blog on /blog.

    Below is the error when i run the postleaf with nginx at /blog

    Error: Could not execute GraphicsMagick/ImageMagick: identify "-ping" "-format" "%n" "/root/qr-blog/uploads/2018/06/App-logo.png" this most likely means the gm/convert binaries can't be found

    please check and help to run this blog.

    thanks

    can anybody help me to fix thi issue
    Cory LaViska
    @claviska
