<Ic3Tank> playerChat is part of the new crypto signed chat that was introduced in 1.19.2. I think the client can still emit chat.
<Ic3Tank> Chat is emitted when the client deserialized the chat packet from received data. So as long as chat is send you can still listen to it. Mineflayer should wrap both chat and playerChat anyway so it's best to just use that.
<Ic3Tank> The example should still work for all versions that do not use signed chat
