Here is VS compatible MinGW http://mingwpy.github.io/ so maybe Qt can be recompiled with it , so PySide can be recompiled with it, so finally PySide2 can be recompiled with it and be compatible with Python 2.7 ?
So, is it a good idea to have Qt be recompiled for PySide?

Is there a place to store references to alternative C++ binding generators https://www.euroscipy.org/2015/schedule/presentation/58/ so that they won't lost? I remember there was another project also.

interesting approach! Compiling Qt is quite a huge undertaking - we would need to provide that. Is it worth it?

@ctismer I was actually going to try on Windows today, I'll have an opinion for you later :)

Actually, @ctismer , do we need to do custom builds if we use that? It would just use the MinGW distribution of Qt on Windows wouldn't it?

@techtonik back in its early days PySide used boost.python for its wrapping. If ps2 made a hypothetical move to that binding generator it'd be kinda full circle lol
