<alina> hi, in multithreading with qthread does it make a difference if I declare my signals in the worker object or in my main class (QMainWindow)?
<alina> or do I have to declare my signals in the same object where I emit them?

@Siecje I am using the conda package of shiboken and pyside. I want to fix a bug which is valid for both (shiboken and shiboken2)
@ctismer I am familiar with git and github. If pyside would still be accessible via github, creating a PR wouldn't be a big problem... I would prefer if someone experienced with the development can fix this bug. This would definitely be more efficient. The patch for pyside can be found here: https://github.com/looooo/pyside-feedstock/blob/master/recipe/shiboke-win64-pointer-size.patch
It tries to solve this bug: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/PYSIDE-191

<oprypin> in my experience signals either work or don't work, there's no middle ground where you need to fear for race conditions or anything like that

there was something wrong with the link to that patch, so here again: https://github.com/looooo/pyside-feedstock/blob/master/recipe/shiboken-win64-pointer-size.patch

<Mrokii> Hello. I'm trying to get into PySide / Qt-programming and one of my tests was to display folder-names in a QTreeWidget. However, I must be doing something wrong. I get the proper folder names, but each column of the TreeWidget only shows one character. So, let's say I have the folder name "/opt", then the first line in the TreeWidget shows "/" in column 1, "o" in column 2, "p" in column 3" and "t" in
<Mrokii> column 4.
<Mrokii> Here is a snippet of how I am trying to fill the TreeWidget. Maybe there's an obvious bug for seasoned PySide programmers: https://pastebin.com/p0f1tDJb

<alina> Mrokii: ln 11 QTreeWidgetItem constructor
<alina> Mrokii: try pass the string within a tuple/list
<Mrokii> alina: Thank you!!! That worked. I don't really know why it has to be a tuple or a list but I will investigate further. :)

<alina> Mrokii: convenience I guess. the treewidget gets filled up on a per line basis, each additional item within the list would be placed in adjacent columns

<Mrokii> alina: Seems so, yes.
