It's open source and thus will grow when people are interested to push it further. Saying that only one person is responsible for the project to progress is against the idea to open it up. Then he could've done it in silence and nobody would've known about it.

I need to look in here more often! Sorry for not being here for so long!
The current situation with bsf is quite unfortunate, however, we didn't use that much of it to begin with. I found the restrictions of the rendering engine quite a hassle to work around.
OpenGothic is making pretty decent progress, I wonder why we've been taking so long ;)
Also I haven't been completely abstinent to programming gothicy stuff, it's just not public yet. For instance, there is a Coop-Prototype sitting on my GitHub page in a private repository which id like to clean up and make public as soon as it's a little less rough.

It is a visual bug. The Linux artifacts are about ~280MB I think.

@q4a If i remember this correctly. The old repository was unmanageable and hard to understand code. which is why we thought that a already existing framework will help in rebuilding the engine with a good code design

@q4a Both projects use ZenLib to load Gothic files, but OpenGothic has its own graphic engine written from scratch, so it is not possible to simply "merge" both projects.

Also last time I tried to run OpenGothic its engine supported only Vulcan API which I see as main disadvantage of this project - you cant run it on older graphic cards

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kI7G4s3N5wY movie is in Polish, but what happens there is some guy used actors' dubbing voices from Gothic sound files and used it to train a neural network. Now he has a voice generator that is capable of reading any text with voice of any character from the game. Some of them sound quite nice - can be used for modding :) You can hear some examples in the video (though you'd have to know the polish dubbing of the game in order to compare and judge the quality).

I'm not familiar with the details but I know it was designed for Polish lang. I'm guessing it matters as for example some written phrases are supposed to sound identical even though they look different (e.g. "ch" == "h", "rz" == "ż/
so things like that are possibly hardcoded, so training the same network for data of another language would not achieve as good result...

Hey, i was curious is there still active Development on this project? From the looks of it it seems so since the latest commit was 7 days ago. But i just wonder since the Chat here is almost non existent at the moment. OpenGoth seems to ignore all settings (no sliders for some parts and other seem to have no effect -invert mouse for exampe-) is this a fault on my side or a known bug? i am using gog gothic II gold vanilla

Hey! Anyone interested in doing the same project with me, just for Gothic 3? Today I started to rewrite the entire Genome Engine with the original function and class names in hand. Not to say that it will be an exact copy of the engine ...
