Welcome to the community chat! You can chat about whatever you want about the project here!
For random updates and thoughts about design and code during development, you can use this room: https://gitter.im/Readlebee/updates That's where I'll be writing things to just think through things I'm working on, so feel free to do the same if you need to!
Are/will be there be any integrations with goodreads?
like a firefox extension
Hi @afonari_gitlab, integration with Goodreads is not in the plans. I'm going to say that someone else will have to build that for it to happen.
I just added an "Import Shelves from Goodreads" bullet point to the Feature Ideas wiki page, because that would be a very helpful feature for onboarding Readlebee users, but I haven't looked into it at all and don't know what a Goodreads export looks like yet. So that's at least written down so we can look at it together later.
Really excited about this project
Always wanted a better good reads alternative
Thanks! I'm excited about it too! I'm going to need a lot of help if it's going to be "better" than Goodreads. Right now, I'm shooting for "provides an alternate service with similar features" because there's really no alternative to it at all
Goodreads has the power and resources of Amazon behind it, so it'll be really hard to make it even as good as Goodreads, but it will at least offer the social features and book organizing options without tracking or connection to Amazon!
I am no coder, how can I help?
Later on there will be more to do, but for right now, you can help by providing ideas for designs and features either here or in the Issue Tracker, or you can contribute to cleaning up and extending the data in Inventaire
hey, is this self-hosted or is it just FOSS
Hi @TomatDividedBy0_gitlab sorry I didn't see this earlier. The plan is to make it self-hosted with ActivityPub support, but that's going to take a while to get there. It will likely be just centralized and FLOSS for a time before I'm able to get ActivityPub integrated. There's also the matter of getting Readlebee itself up to any sort of readiness.

@Alamantus I saw your post on reddit and really liked the concept. I use goodreads a lot. They rolled out a couple of updates to their mobile app, but still is a pain to use sometimes. I'd love to contribute to the project.
