    We released our second RC for RediSearch 1.6, release notes can be found here: https://github.com/RediSearch/RediSearch/releases/tag/v1.6.3 All feedback is welcome!

    Is it possible to filter using another query? I might not be using the correct terms. Let say I have a list of cars and a list of cars brands. I would like to filter the cars by model but also on some property of the cars brands.
    Guy Korland
    @gkorland
    There are two options
    1. De-normalize the schema and include the brand data in each car
    2. Use another module that utilize RediSearch but adds support for relations like RedisGraph

    Hey, is there any possibility of some PRs getting merged into redisearch-py ? Particularly these 2: RediSearch/redisearch-py#38 RediSearch/redisearch-py#37
    Also I just ran into this issue myself: RediSearch/redisearch-py#31 and I would be willing to put in the work to do a PR to fix this, but only if I knew it was going to be accepted. Considering I put in a PR back in August that still hasn't been merged, I don't have great faith that if I put in the work, anything will actually get merged and released at the moment.

    Without that commitment, I'll just have to fork and maintain my own version of redisearch-py, which I'd really rather not have to do if I don't need to. I would love for these fixes/features to be available to everyone

    @cheeseandcereal
    Turns out fixing that bug was really simple: RediSearch/redisearch-py#44
    It would be great if those 3 PRs could be merged/released....

    @cheeseandcereal thank you for you contribution and I am sorry it was not merged yet (we probably missed it so it is good you wrote this message). I will personally make sure that me (or someone else) will review your PR's and we will defenatly merge them. Any contribution is always welcome.
    Adam
    @cheeseandcereal
    I really appreciate you guys merging those PRs! Is there any chance that a release could be made for what's on master at the moment? It has a decent amount of changes since the least release ~1.5 years ago including those useful bug fixes.
    Guy Korland
    @gkorland
    we'll probbaly release a new version soon
    Adam
    @cheeseandcereal
    That would be awesome! Thanks!

    Is this chat room still active? I wanted some implementing redissearch for MongoDB through Flask

    @cabhijith Yes, still active. Or you can post your question to our Google Group: https://groups.google.com/forum/?nomobile=true#!forum/redisearch
    Guy Korland
    @gkorland
    @cabhijith can you please extend a bit? what are you trying to achieve?
    djbokkeman
    @djbokkeman
    Hi there! Not sure if this is the right place. But im trying to achieve a multiple groupby and count in aggregation. I would like to have a list with both values and count. But Im a little lost.
    Meir Shpilraien (Spielrein)
    @MeirShpilraien
    Hey @djbokkeman can you explain exactly what you need? You want to groupby by two fields or you want to count each of the two fields separately?
    djbokkeman
    @djbokkeman
    Yes I think that's what I want to accomplish. I actually want to build up a complete filter navigation as a result. For example, when you use google shopping and enter a search term like "programming" on the left hand you will have the filters. Here you can filter for example on Genre, Seller, Color and price. I would also like to retrieve filters with a search result and a count of each filter item. Ideally this would be done by requesting all filter items in one call.
    djbokkeman
    @djbokkeman
    I was wondering If it would be possible to reduces this to a single call.
    Meir Shpilraien (Spielrein)
    @MeirShpilraien
    I am afraid you will need multiple aggregate queries for this
    Meir Shpilraien (Spielrein)
    @MeirShpilraien
    You can try combining RediSearch and RedisGears (https://oss.redislabs.com/redisgears/) to achieve it, if you want to try it let me know and I can guide you through it.
    djbokkeman
    @djbokkeman
    Hi @MeirShpilraien thanks for your suggestion, it looks real nice and we will take a look at it!

    Is the process for upgrading from redisearch 1.4 to 1.6 as simple as just updating redisearch itself? Or do any of the underlying rdb/aof files need to be changed/migrated?
    Guy Korland
    @gkorland
    1.4 to 1.6 upgrade is fully backward compatibale , no need to change the the files.

    Do you restart Redis? Do you have persistent set?

    John Jerald De Chavez
    @jjdechavez029_gitlab
    No, I just terminate the server local. whenever I go off with my computer
    I don't have either persistent set
    Ohh, is this persistent you are talking about? I think I need to read more about redis
