    @ayham-madi - great to meet you. Lots to interesting potential for ResearchObjects + Decentralised Web! Stay in touch. Cheers

    @ayham-madi
    thank you @eocarragain , we had a great workshop, we will stay in touch for sure :smile:

    Hi all. Wanted to introduce myself -- I'm working on a project that could plug in to Research Objects. It's called PEP (portable encapsulated projects) and it's a way to standardize metadata for sample-intensive bioinformatics projects. I've put together descriptions at http://pepkit.github.io -- would love to talk with anyone interested in this kind of thing and exploring how to interface with RO.

    @stain

    Hi, @nsheff - also thanks for your email! Perhaps cool would be to add you to the next RO call (which anyway needs rescheduling) -- do you think 2018-03-26 10:00 UTC would work for you?
    Edit: you are in EST timezone so I guess not! I will look for a better time slot in our afternoon.

    PEPToolkit (nice web pages!) seems a bit similar to http://isa-tools.org/ (ISATab) - see also their examples

    BTW, is not PEP already a Python concept...? :)

    @eocarragain
    @nsheff - very interesting project & great documentation and tooling (peppy, pepr, looper)
    If you want to add more detail in that google doc, or corresponding spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Tg-oYGPdBDs5LORt0olD5t4X1R_YliUrwr6bNmImjTk/edit), please do so!

    Sorry, we'll have to pull a Doodle poll for the rescheduled RO telcon for next week. Feel free to vote on https://doodle.com/poll/bsv5ah45vrqzv974 and add yourself to the agenda

    @stain
    Research Object call will be tomorrow: 2018-03-27 15:00 BST / 16:00 CEST / 11:00 EDT.
    Instead of Skype we'll call using https://zoom.us/j/499371969

    @mr-c
    @stain I thought we had picked the 27th. I'll have to drop out halfway for the CWL community call
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    that's OK. Sorry about that.
    that is why I was not available for that slot in Doodle..b ut it worked for everyone else

    @eocarragain
    thanks @stain

    @stain
    and very related - just had a promising chat with a prospective Google Summer of Code student who wants to add similar provenance research objects from Nextflow
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    Please help re-distribute (aka spam) about the Research Object workshop! You can copy-paste the call for paper text . (Thanks to @eocarragain for already promoting!)
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    I also made a detailed guide for submitting with details on how to upload to Zenodo -- perhaps a bit detailed, but just in case someone is new to Zenodo.
    Michael R. Crusoe
    @mr-c
    @stain That guide is really great!

    @mr-c
    Welcome @edgano !
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    Hi, @edgano! Good to have you in the chatroom :) We should do another call soon to plan your next work, GSOC coding formally starts next week.
    Edgar
    @edgano
    @stain Yep! I am already playing with it

    FYI, a new w3c json-ld working group is spinning up at the moment: https://www.w3.org/2018/json-ld-wg/Meetings/Minutes/. @stain have you encountered any json-ld pain points from a RO perspective?
    "The mission of the JSON-LD Working Group is to update the JSON-LD 1.0 specifications to address specific usability or technical issues based on the community’s experiences, implementer feedback, and requests for new features. "
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    @eocarragain yes, I've followed the mailing list (since the beginning of JSON-LD really), but not the calls so far. For instance that we could not do "@base": "../" hack - but I understand why that went out.. Still waiting for JSON-LD Framing to be official.

    @inutano
    @stain Hi Stian, could you give me the URL of the standard to describe the runtime metrics stuff?
    which you showed me at the biohackathon in Paris
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    @inutano sorry I missed this, it would be https://www.ogf.org/documents/GFD.204.pdf
    Stian Soiland-Reyes

    FYI: The Research Object Lite development has started, and the next RO Lite call will be next week on 2019-05-02T20:00Z - to join see agenda
    Michael R. Crusoe
    @mr-c
    @stain Cool! The agenda link seems to be the same as the time link? I see no agenda :-P
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    Since I'm not so good with Markdown - link is https://s.apache.org/ro-lite-minutes#heading=h.4g28gc1m5csr

    GA4GH has a proposed an encrypted data container standard (where the metadata and indexes are unencrypted) https://crypt4gh.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html
    Michael R. Crusoe
    @mr-c
    How do I add something to http://www.researchobject.org/initiative/ ?
    "Reproducible Experiment Description "
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    hi! I am trying to move the researchobject.org pages to Github Pages (in which case we could do pull requests), but we have some weird sub-pages that ended up weird in Markdown. In particular those "initiatives" that were done as a new type of document in Wordpress. I'll add that for now - but the list is quite outdated anyway and probably should be removed or made to a single page.
    Michael R. Crusoe
    @mr-c
    @stain Thanks! Wish we had a funded RO activity so that someone could evaluate these other initiatives & do outreach
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    Now on http://www.researchobject.org/initiative/red/ - I guess they don't have a publication yet
    Michael R. Crusoe
    @mr-c
    For RED itself? Not that I've found yet
    Stian Soiland-Reyes
    @stain
    btw - now added all the accepted RO2019 talks - churning through transcribing the peer reviews
