Hi Kineo!

We are reaching out to influential digital and creative companies in Brighton with hope that you may be interested in sponsoring one of our weekly coding workshops aimed at women, LGBTQ and other people otherwise underrepresented in the tech community.

Sponsorship can be as simple as paying for food for the students and coaches or even hosting a workshop at your company office. This is a great way for the Codebar students and the developer community to discover what your company is all about and to show your support for this great initiative.

Please let us know if you would be interested, or who we should reach out to directly within your company to discuss further. Here is some additional information that explains Codebar and what this opportunity could mean.

What is Codebar?
Codebar is an initiative aiming to bridge the diversity gap in the tech industry by running free weekly coding workshops and other programming related events aimed at women, LGBTQ and people otherwise underrepresented. Codebar is currently active in Brighton, London, and Cambridge. Codebar Brighton is held every Tuesday.

Who sponsors Codebar?
Our growing list of amazing sponsors includes Brandwatch, Rakuten DC Storm, Ideal Networks, 68 Middle St., Wired Sussex, Madgex, American Express, Ministry of Testing, GitHub, The Skiff, Twitter, Ubuntu, Neptik, Skype, and more. A full list and their logos are always included on our website at http://codebar.io

How Can You Help?
Codebar Brighton has now been running since April 2014 and has reached hundreds of students in just a short amount of time.

We need money to keep Codebar free in order to continue teaching programming skills to even more students. Sponsorship can include providing space for workshops or purchasing food for an event. In regards to space, we usually have around 20 students and 15 mentors. Food for the event ranges between £100 and £125.

For further information on the model of Codebar please check out the FAQ: http://www.codebar.io/faq

How to Sponsor
To sign up as a sponsor or to learn more about additional opportunities to support Codebar, please email us at brighton@codebar.io

Sponsors are promoted through our social media and have the opportunity to present a short informal talk at the workshop about how awesome it is to work at your company as a developer!

Thank you so much for considering this. We can definitely work with you to find the date that works best for you and we look forward to seeing how we can all grow this effort throughout Brighton and beyond.
