@JSteunou
CLI
using a lot npm scripts instead of grunt or gulp
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
ahh.. well the boilerplate pretty much saved us.. @jmeas really killed it there
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
yes he did
I was hoping for a magic CLI command / options to build a bunch to one file like Toolkit
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
we use gulp internally so it really resonated with us
but besides import/export there’s no ES6 in use
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
I ve not either
not yet
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
we have to support IE8 and I want to keep the code readable for most normal people
like myself
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
was really for the import / export thing and be able to build UMD one file
ouch
<--- ever green browsers
and we sell

@paulfalgout
I’m honestly amazed that most US citizens are still alive at all sometimes
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
lool
here, if we know someone who's going abroad we say: "and dont get sick, or break a leg, it'll cost you your home, or you might die from cold"
that's the sad reputation of north america health care
besides they seem to go not so bad in Grey's Anatomy :D
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
@paulfalgout do you guys also using a LayoutView as RootView
and do you have a RootView for each application / sub apps ?
James
@jamesplease
:)
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
@JSteunou Currently we are not replacing Marionette.Application and haven’t yet pulled our regions off of the base application. So right now we’re just Toolkit.Apps down from there. I’d say generally we’ll pass a region into a Toolkit.App and perhaps a majority of the time it loads a layout, but this isn’t always the case. I think we have at least one App that all it does is manage state and load/unload some childApps and has no view logic what-so-ever
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
I generally do this too
one app to rule them all
then a lot of child apps
on 2/3 levels
what I use to do was creating a DOM node for each child app (module actually), then transforming it into a region via App.addRegion and putting in a default LayoutView or the LayoutView given in option
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
@JSteunou I think we should be getting a release out tomorrow here. It’ll have your app name, bower and global export
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
that is very nice! much appreciate
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
Morning!
nicely done for the v0.3.0 :)
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
:-)
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
how you doing guys?
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
doing ok.. busy day
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
hehe
I'm on hold at using toolkit, but so far so good. Adapt one old module using it and seems good
Will do the huge change on our main app another time, but cannot wait for it :)
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
awesome
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
Rolling a 0.4.0 release very soon. It’s main feature will be that now you’ll be able to require each tool separately: require(‘marionette.toolkit.app’); will only load the code for the app, and not the rest of the toolkit library if you so choose.
a v1 release will be coming in the next few weeks as well
Jérôme Steunou
@JSteunou
very nice @paulfalgout
Vladimir Malyk
@vladimir-malyk
tnx for 0.4
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
Released 0.4.1 to match the Marionette 2.4.2 dependency bump
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
v2 is out. Now for Marionette 3.0
Paul Falgout
@paulfalgout
v3 is out. There were two very small breaking changes that probably are not breaking, but better safe than sorry.. plus it brings it inline with Mn’s versioning. The main feature addition is being able to set an App’s region on start. https://www.npmjs.com/package/marionette.toolkit
