I will look into that, but later... I would say that the code is "paraphrased", but given that NR based their code off of a published technique, they don't have any monopoly on the algorithm.
v3.3 tagged and pushed. I will try to update the brew install and figure out PyPI, but after tomorrow, I'm on vacation...

Sure, the algorithm's fine; it's just their specific implementation that's trouble.
