Where should this url point to? Are you the same guy who created the issue at fomantic ui? Then please post some example response and what target url you need to create and post it there
Marco 'Lubber' Wienkoop
@lubber-de
I think , I understood now,:the URL should be created out of content from other fields dynamically , right?... I responded at the discord server of fomantic ui

@darenchun92_gitlab
hello
I am currently trying to use semantic in jsp
but official website doesn't seem to have any explanation about settings and etc.
does anyone know anything about this?
전동기
@darenchun92_gitlab
all I can find was in assumption that u are using react, angular or other custom library
you need node. but I am trying to build with spring framework using jsp
Marco 'Lubber' Wienkoop
@lubber-de
If you use a cdn you don't need node. Just use the precompiled css and js for your jsp project

@viditkothari Downgrade to node 10/11 or you could use the community fork https://fomantic-ui.com/

@onemangrove
hey guys! question: when i install semantic-ui 2.4.2 with npm i actually get prompted in the console and have to make 3 choices with the arrow keys and enter in order to install properly. this is actually also happening on our continuous integration pipeline and causing the build to fail. is there a way to turn off this behavior?
Colin Frick
@ColinFrick
@onemangrove set autoInstall to true in your semantic.json
Marco 'Lubber' Wienkoop
@lubber-de
The community fork Fomantic-UI released a huge update 2.8.1 today: Toast with actions, Emojis, configurable component variants for smaller CSS files and a lot more. https://fomantic-ui.com

Does it mean 'semantic-ui' isn't so semantic afterall: https://codepen.io/viditkothari/pen/abbRqrw ?

I have been trying the semantic-ui framework and trying to replace the sample codes filled with div tag (from the official semantic-ui.com documentation portal) with the corresponding semantic tags like ul & li in the sample codepen above and I'm seeing styling, alignment issues.

Any idea whats going on / whats wrong?

Marco 'Lubber' Wienkoop
@lubber-de
@viditkothari As long as you add ui list to the <ul> tag, it should still work. The framework decided not to directly patch _any_ul or other already existing semantic tag like button to make sure it is still compatible with possible other used libraries or own styles. Yes, you still have to add ui list or ui button for now, but thats makes it independent of other styles. Kind of namespace.
@viditkothari In your codepen you used ul together with menu which isnt semantically correct either and not directly supported
Vidit Kothari
@viditkothari

@lubber-de I tried removing the menu from the ul tag's class thus replacing ul tag's class with 'ui list' but now I'm getting the usual bullets for the following code:
<ul class="ui list">
<li class="item"></li>
<li class="item"></li>
</ul>
like we get with vanilla / browser-default css.

So do you mean, to use semantic-ui one needs to use less of semantic HTML tags and use more of div tag ?

Marco 'Lubber' Wienkoop
@lubber-de
Semantic displays ul bulleted and ol ordered by default, because thats what usual html would do (as you said). With the current codebase you would have to use div to display lists other than the browser default would. Yes, this is something discussable
Vidit Kothari
@viditkothari
@lubber-de , ok thanks for clarifying.
I didn't mean to sound differently but just wanted to learn and clarify things. I'm new to semantic-ui and had some doubts regarding the use of semantics html tags and how semantic-ui treats them.

Hi
Shall we use CSS variables as value for Less variable.
example:
SelvarajKrishnan
@Selvakrish07_twitter

root{
--wd-color:#234567;
}

@primaryColor: --wd-color;

on this it returns error on less color function like darken, lighten, etc. in default .less files

hey, I'm trying to upgrade to fomantic. I have a vue project but fomantic does not seem to be adding functions to jquery. I'm doing:

import $ from 'jquery'
import 'fomantic-ui'
$('.ui.sidebar').sidebar(...)

but I get:

TypeError: __WEBPACK_IMPORTED_MODULE_0_jquery___default(...)(...).sidebar is not a function

Hi I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this issue. I'm using a multiple search selection dropdown with a call to an api. If I type in the search box and immedit aftately hit enter only the first few characters are added ,as an addition, and not all the characters I typed. This makes me think the characters that are added are only the ones that are sent to the API $(".wants.dropdown, .offers.dropdown").dropdown({ allowAdditions: true, ignoreCase: true, forceSelection: false, hideAdditions: false, apiSettings: { url: '/api/tags/{query}', beforeSend: function (settings) { if (settings.urlData.query === "") { return false; } return settings } }, });

@lubber-de https://jsfiddle.net/dgowell/ksgepjox/21/ so quite simply if you type very quickly and then hit return only a portion of the characters are added as a tag. Does that make sense?
