    which can do goto definition

    dein does not automatically add ~/.vim/bundle/repos/github.com/Valloric/YouCompleteMe to rtp, if I add that line above dein#add('Valloric/YouCompleteMe'), it works
    is there a way to get dein to add it automatically?
    I tried dein#add('Valloric/YouCompleteMe', {'rtp': '.'}), but no luck
    The nice thing about youcomplete me is that it doesn't use tags for go to definition
    I always have trouble with tags
    (especially on os x)

    Yeah, doesn't work. @Shougo - is there a way to make certain plugins not lazy load?
    definitely seems to be some weirdness with YouCompleteMe. Even if I add the rtp manually, vim starts up fairly slowly, which doesn't happen with vundle.
    it also doesn't happen with dein if I don't use youcompleteme
    Shougo
    @Shougo
    YouCompleteMe loading is slow.
    Because it uses Python interface.
    Vundle has same problem.
    You have build manually?
    Oh
    deoplete uses cache feature.
    You must disable it.
    Because dein.vim doesn't know the build.
    Please read the documentation

    @synic @Shougo I have the same problem: dein is not cloning YouCompleteMe correctly on Mac OS X and when I clone it manually it does not add the rtp. I am not using the caching feature
    but a call dein#update() seems to got this unstuck

    The last update is 6 month ago
    @SirVer The cache feature is not same as the state.
    It is merge the plugins directory.
    I should describe the feature.
    I will add FAQ section.

    Does dein#update() update dein ?
    Shougo
    @Shougo
    If you have manage dein by dein, yes.

    @Shougo How can I configure that ?
    if dein#load_state('/Users/me/Dropbox/dotfiles/.vim/bundles')
      call dein#begin('/Users/me/Dropbox/dotfiles/.vim/bundles')

      " Let dein manage dein
      " Required:
      call dein#add('/Users/me/Dropbox/dotfiles/.vim/bundles/repos/github.com/Shougo/dein.vim')
    ...
      call dein#end()
      call dein#save_state()
    endif
    Does the above settings mean dein is already being managed by dein ?
    Shougo
    @Shougo
    Yes

    @SirVer I have updated dein.vim documentation.
    So, this is my answer.
    Q: YouCompleteMe does not work. I have built YouCompleteMe manually.

    A: dein.vim has merge feature. It copys the plugins into the merge directory.
    So dein.vim does not know the manually built binary. It does not be copied.
    You should disable the merge feature manually. >
        call dein#add('Valloric/YouCompleteMe', {'merged': 0})
