@xen2
btw, please backup your project properly before upgrade, we changed lot of namespace and switched to new project system so auto project upgrade is doing a lot of stuff, and might not work automatically out of the box in some advanced cases
DW01
@DW01
I can see this working the way UE4 does (i.e. launcher with binaries for people who don't feel comfortable building themselves)
Robert Campbell
@jayrulez
new project system?
that's new new csproj format?
DW01
@DW01
Yeah first thing I noticed was all reference to SS was dropped from the source tree, haha
xen2
@xen2
so in practice, editor + runtime is MIT, only launcher isn't (but of course, nothing prevents you from creating your own distribution channel inside your company if you want)
YotPhiligan
@YotPhiligan
SDK style msbuild
Robert Campbell
@jayrulez
also, what will the new version number be? 3.0 :)?
xen2
@xen2
yes
Daniel Keenan
@dfkeenan
Aww, man. The launcher was one of the things I wanted to fix something in.
xen2
@xen2
let me think about it, but probably I wouldn't mind giving private access to a few people
or even open it but with a different license
Daniel Keenan
@dfkeenan
I only wanted to make it so you could remove projects from the list.
That's been annoying me since it was released.
xen2
@xen2
might be good to at least have an issue tracker for it quickly
xen2
@xen2
@jayrulez yes the new csproj format
Xenko is now a packageref: <PackageReference Include="Xenko" Version="3.0.0.1-dev"/>
Robert Campbell
@jayrulez
That's awesome. So I can use .net standard libs now?
xen2
@xen2
little bit later down the road I want to split libraries to each have its own package
game project is still net461
but you can reference net standard libs I think
just adjust the project type if you want
Robert Campbell
@jayrulez
Yep. That's fine. I want to share a lib between my .net core game server and the xenko project
Syrikzero
@e102em
Can't wait for the news to hit the forum
Sandityas Noormina
@Kenji245
wow
@xen2 how about the editor?
xen2
@xen2
yes editor is MIT too
DW01
@DW01
It's present in the new repo if you want to take a look :)
Sandityas Noormina
@Kenji245
now i see that, thanks.
Syrikzero
@e102em
So if SIlicon doesn't support xenko then who will run the xenko page moving foward
xen2
@xen2
website & server? I will
Daniel Keenan
@dfkeenan
You are taking on quite a burden.
You must really love this engine.
xen2
@xen2
yes, let's see how it goes
thought it was better than being discontinued
Syrikzero
@e102em
:o ohhh this is gewd this is gewd mean your going to be the guy I talk to for promo of my game in near future (Get character feature for xenko site)
xen2
@xen2
worst case, if it doesn't work out, just keeping server alive shouldn't cost much
DW01
@DW01
It's my understanding that you actually did much of the work leading up to this, right?
Syrikzero
@e102em
I love Xenko I still have high hopes or this engine.
Does Xenko support cloth physics now?
xen2
@xen2
@DW01 I pushed for this outcome as much as I could yes
@e102em no(t yet)
Syrikzero
@e102em
Is content also is ready :eyes:
Sandityas Noormina
@Kenji245
lets hope this news will gain more community, i'll try to spread the words
Syrikzero
@e102em
Def got to update the main page
DW01
@DW01
I see the editor is wpftoolkit / avalondock now too. I'm guessing there was a lot of custom work done for feature parity, mainly on custom controls
Daniel Keenan
@dfkeenan
I think it has been using those for a while
xen2
@xen2
yes (actually avalondock switch was done a while ago because we knew at some point sources would be released either publicly or to clients)
DW01
@DW01
I haven'ty been paying attention, admittedly
