@dmarkey can you explain your hwtimer a little bit more?
i looked your code
David
@dmarkey
Oct 30 2015 10:40
well, hwtimer.c comes from the SDK

I just managed to wire it in successfully

what is this calculation. is it for 80mhz or 160-80mhz both?

@alonewolfx2 like I said, hw_timer.c came from espressif, I just managed to get it to work in the Blink project

@dmarkey what is smarthome_esp8266controller_sming ?
i saw 74hc595 right?
David
@dmarkey
Oct 30 2015 10:48
yup
I was using esp-01, limited gpio pins
i'm deprecating that project though
I'm goin to control RF sockets instead
a lot safer than using relays

you are controling just 1 pin on 74hc595 right?
David
@dmarkey
Oct 30 2015 10:53
no, 3
there is a way to use one, but I didnt investigate it

74hc595 & 74hc165 is good chips, but mcp23s17 is AFAIK much better.. I use 74* chips in several arduino & esp8266 projects and now move to mcp23s17... it is more reliable, easier to design PCB for it.. it costs more 1.2$ instead of 0.05$ but it worth it...
if someone needs examples of using 74* chips in pair as input and output port expansion for esp8266 is SPI mode welcome to https://github.com/avr39-ripe/HeatControl/blob/zhana/app/spi_loop.cpp :)

@dmarkey :
Saw your comments on tcp connections on the espressif bbs.
I don't say the issue it is not espressif related but Sming is not using the espressif layer. It is directly using the LWIP layer.

HI all, I was trying to play with hw pwm and cloned from https://github.com/raburton/Sming/archive/hwpwm.zip but I get errors when trying to make simng..... should this work?

@jmccoy555 :
hwpwm is a not yet released feature of Sming and has still has known and unknown issues.
If you consider experimenting with this I suggest you fetch PR #375 from Sming Repo and report issues/good progess as a comment in the PR.
