@hreintke what is the difference between RTOS and NONOS? Is there an advantage of the RTOS SDK?

@piperpilot :
  • NOSOS is a little ahead on RTOS SDK at the moment.
  • Espressif is actively improving RTOS SDK to get it at the NONOS level
  • Main : ESP32 will only be supported by RTOS SDK -> opening options to have Sming support ESP32&8266
  • Inherent RTOS task/queue functionality which among others, (probably) will create options to improve the Arduino integration

@hreintke >NOSOS is a little ahead on RTOS SDK at the moment.
what type of differences did you find?
the RTOS lag is just on esp8266 or also in esp32?
my sidethinking is that if RTOS is not evolving at the same speed for esp8266 and ESP32.. :D

@hreintke yep
@robotiko nonos sdk slowing down and rtos sdk will growe much faster with esp32
@piperpilot main differences are task/quee things and memory, ram management.

@alonewolfx2 sure thing in concept..
but is it something already reflected in sdk?
anyone here got esp31 sample?

@piperpilot for example you can start task with priorities and different stack sizes.
@robotiko unfortunately not
@robotiko i wish to join beta program but you know I am just teacher :)

@robotiko :
Did not go into detail of differences. But I m not sure how the newer libraries are supported/integrated.
On the other hand. Both RTOS and NONOS can interface with external libraries so having espressif releasing functional libraries is a good thing

But i'm happy i have not receive it... I have zero time to learn RTOS.
I received zero esp32s... ;)
