To the contributors here, id like to thank you sincerely. I am still not sure where this is going, but i have to say that it is exciting to finally build code / burn it to the esp and test. The number of examples makes it easy to get going and the spiffy addition is neat! I had high expectations from nodemcu, but the tradeoffs were getting me to fear from the bare power of this nice little chip
Next on my plate is to try to build with debugger options enabled through serial. Anyone here did this already?

ystrem
@ystrem
Dec 31 2015 18:22
ok, what now
Dmitry Kireev
@kireevco
Dec 31 2015 18:23
@ystrem if 4.9 works, that's great
I've merged it to my esp-alt-sdk master
I've heard 5.1 has much better compression
and more efficient memory usage in the target firmawre

Dec 31 2015 18:32
no, but I did a very small !! and not successful try to compile Sming with esp32 rtos sdk.
Used UDK beta esp32 toolchain for that.

hreintke
@hreintke
Dec 31 2015 18:40
@kireevco : yes sming. The "Hello world" compiles OK :smile:
With sming it will be a combination of esp32 rtos sdk vs esp8266 rtos sdk and the Proof of Concept state of sming

@hreintke just pushed some changes
rBoot building with rtos and the basic_rboot sample also now compiling
let me know if you're still getting any issues
i would like to get testing rBoot on an esp32
pity we can't get hold of them more easily yet, even for a price
Richard Antony Burton
@raburton
Dec 31 2015 19:35
@hreintke just done some actual testing (though i probably should) and it boots up fine, and connects to wifi, but doesn't seem to take any serial input from the console, is that working yet with rtos sming? or does it need to be done differently?
not going to have much time for the rest of the day (19:30 here) as fiancée has arranged a party here instead of me playing on my pc all evening
