just set up "something" (not ESP) as another server, do redirects and test if it is "ESP related" or "mobile related"?
IP (ESP) changed?
You call it by name or IP?

WiFi is ms latency, and there is ~10sec startup from some mysterious reason

@zhivko can you try open address from browser
laurentppol
@laurentppol
Feb 04 2016 00:38
and it is op "problem" as DDNS gets resolved "immediately"
and PING results look like "op" is holding FIRST packet processing for 10sec... then everything goes normal...

correct now ide what happened. omehow a corrupt local git repo (git told it was ok ?)
Got the Arducam working: now i need to do siomthing with the data. Right now it writes a hexdump to Serial (until the watchdog kicks in). So i need to be carefull not spending to much time for image processing ..
No. But I am here :)
THX it’s all sorted for now

Is the application in your repo the one which works now ?
riban-bw
@riban-bw
Feb 04 2016 20:06
@kireevco I followed your advice with getting choco running but no joy. The install scripts for various apps require admin rights, e.g. they are msi or need to set env vars and do so in a way that is not permitted on a locked down machine. Is there a list of the bits I need to build Sming without the need to use choco (which is really annoying me - everyone says it makes things easier!!!)
hreintke
@hreintke
Feb 04 2016 20:28
@riban-bw :
Manual installation does it all without choco :smile:
See https://github.com/SmingHub/Sming/wiki/Windows---Manual-Installation
Will install UDK/Cherts toolset which works within windows

Feb 04 2016 20:50
@hreintke
It does work somehow.
I can take shots and get data.
Ther is a Serializer to send the data somwhere. Right now it sends a hexdump to serial (commented aout in the repo)
Other serializers -> spiffy, SD, Websocket etc to be implemented.
Im right now implementing a command handler to interact wit hthe camera (change setting, take shots etc)

i am trying to find a name for serial de swap function
Serial.swap(); fine but what should de_swap?
Serial.reswap(); or Serial.swapagain(); :)
hreintke
@hreintke
Feb 04 2016 21:40
To what will serial swap ?
alonewolfx2
@alonewolfx2
Feb 04 2016 21:41
it will change serial0 output to mtdo_mtck
gpio13-15
re swap will change serial0 output to gpio1-3
and we will have clean (without boot output) serial for using with other mcu or sensors
hreintke
@hreintke
Feb 04 2016 21:44
I am working on debugf output to tx1.
For that I instantiate a second hardwareserial.
alonewolfx2
@alonewolfx2
Feb 04 2016 21:45
yes thats good but we can use rx with serial swap
hreintke
@hreintke
Feb 04 2016 21:45
If you do it the C++ way you should do instantiate another object
and have debugf print to a stream -> then you can use all you want.
even to a file stream or spiffy stream
The base for that is already in the Debug Class.
There I can switch between serial & telnet
And if you do it that way it will work out of the box with devices with more uarts
Don't know how many the esp32 has
hreintke
@hreintke
Feb 04 2016 21:50
You hide the swap in the hardwareserial class and the sming users doesn't need to use
What is the espressif call for the swap ?
alonewolfx2
@alonewolfx2
Feb 04 2016 21:54
system_uart_swap();
Serial.swap(toTelnet);
Serial.swap(toMtdo); ?
hreintke
@hreintke
Feb 04 2016 21:57
Did you test whether it works with just using the call
alonewolfx2
@alonewolfx2
Feb 04 2016 21:58
yes
hreintke
@hreintke
Feb 04 2016 21:58
does it also receive chars ?
alonewolfx2
@alonewolfx2
Feb 04 2016 21:59
yes
hreintke
@hreintke
Feb 04 2016 22:04
Then indeed the Serial.swap(Uart2 ? mtdo ? uart0 ? ) is probably the best.
But also implement Serial.getCurrentOutput() to be able to retrieve current standings.
If you then default Serial.swap() to actual swapping you are done

@hreintke The wiki instructions give the same problem - can't install without admin rights. I may need to do an install on another Windows machine, figure out what gets installed where, make a zip of it all and transfer back to my locked down machine - tedius
If only everything was as simple as linux!
laurentppol
@laurentppol
Feb 04 2016 23:54
It's simple:
  • open the window,
  • put Win$ machine outside window,
  • close window,
  • buy Linux compatible (ex Fedora 16) machine for less than 50$ :)
  • install Linux, enjoy
I have 1.4GHz Celeron, 2 GB RAM, 320 HDD, Fedora 16 and it's working
