Maybe someone will know, when I have the car In ap mode, and try to connect to it from my cell phone, I need to turn off the data connection on the cell, or else it does not connect to the car
Does anyone know how to fix that? It's android

Hi guys, I created a "tasty" branch (https://github.com/slaff/Sming/tree/tasty#tasty-branch) with useful features that are still not merged in Sming. For your own programming pleasure.

As far as I know android has a functionality to check if a connected wifi actually has access to internet it will use the mobile data connection. But I am not sure how local traffic is handled in that scenario. How do you connect to the car? By IP or do you use a hostname or anything like that?

i think it might be this wifi feature - have you looked into all settings related to wifi and data? There must be a switch somewhere

so it seems it does work - first it gives a message saying, not internet on the wifi connection
and then takes 30s more, but connects ok

you can find it in a comment from me at the end of the post
or
use this (it is the extracted file from the toolchain )

Thanks for pointing me into the direction - it think it would be a great addition to distill it into a wiki page ?

Just feel like if we enhance the documentation with these nice features more people would be attracted to sming and we will have a larger community to support the development
(says the new guy haha)

newcomers opinions are not blamed
your point is a classical sming issue .. docs
takes time to create .. mantain.. and low fun
