broker (keyword)
Frank Lemanschik
@frank-dspeed
:(
Harish Soni
@hk220394_twitter
I think You must try once
Frank Lemanschik
@frank-dspeed
Maybe it would help if some one who can code a little bit javascript will help you to set it up for you
i am not sure what i should try
and i am not sure if some one needs this id at all
Harish Soni
@hk220394_twitter
I need this id for my microservice to put in queue config
Frank Lemanschik
@frank-dspeed
not a good idea
there is something wrong designed
the broker is like the name says simply a none managed resource that will transfer messages from instance to instance
you should not handle anything yourself
Harish Soni
@hk220394_twitter
queueConfig.queue = queueConfig.queue + '-broker-' + broker.id
here I need which is in another file
Frank Lemanschik
@frank-dspeed
ah simply replace that with a uuid
do
if (!borker.id) {
 broker.id = new uuid();
}
Harish Soni
@hk220394_twitter
Sure thanks

Hello All,
I am new to node and socketcluster. I am planning to implement small POC in socketcluster which accepts the connection from multiple client and the server should process the data and send the response back to individual client.
is there any reference for this approach this problem ?
Kyle Bernhardy
@kylebernhardy
hi, i know the server and clients do a ping in order to determine if they are still connected. is there a value on the serversocket that stores the latency of the ping ?
Dj-jom2x
@Dj-jom2x
is there reconnect event listener ? like this.socket.on("reconnect",

@Dj-jom2x
how to set origins.. is it domain.com:domain.com because the default is : .. can we put array on it .. im confuse :(
Dan Delany
@dandelany
i believe you can pass an array for the origins option @Dj-jom2x - this is the SC code that uses origins https://github.com/SocketCluster/socketcluster-server/blob/master/scserver.js#L643
Kevin Boon
@inQonsole
@kylebernhardy i think i mention this before, no there is no latency build in by default in the source code, but is very easy to build, if you are having issues to achieve this let me know I can make an example for you
Kevin Boon
@inQonsole
@Dj-jom2x there is no reconnect event in the front end, there is in the back end, in the front end you can use connectionAbort
Dj-jom2x
@Dj-jom2x
example of origins?
Kevin Boon
@inQonsole
@Dj-jom2x what problem are you having with setting the origin, you should be able to just pass the hostname:port as an option on the server
Dj-jom2x
@Dj-jom2x
example of it.. what type does it take? array?
object?
example of two url for origin

hello all,
is anyone worked on streaming data with socketcluster ?
Kyle Bernhardy
@kylebernhardy
@inQonsole it would be very helpful to see an example when you have time
pooyakn
@pooyakn
Hi. Is anyone using socketcluster Android and iOS libraries? Are they usable? Project's last commit goes back to 2018.
Kevin Boon
@inQonsole
@kylebernhardy i'm currently on a work vacation for a installation job, as soon as i get back i will make a script example for you.
Kyle Bernhardy
@kylebernhardy
@inQonsole thank you so much!

Hi, How can I send javascript object in socketcluster?

Hi, how can I publish an event from inside an API controller?
When I create a new worker in worker.js and import it inside a controller file then I get the worker instance as undefined.
@pooyakn They are usable but for iOS minor tweaking will be required to make it compatible with the Swift 5.
@ @rutavaghasia You can stringify the JSON that you want to send and on the receiving side, just parse it.

HI, What is maximin size of a message ? Indeed, we use SockeCluster in CRUD process and wanted to know what is the maximun weight (in Mo) a message can have before being publised? Thank you for your help
Dan Delany
@dandelany
FYI @jondubois I believe the SSL cert for https://socketcluster.io domain expired this week - i'm getting a security warning in Chrome when i load the home page

@dandelany :+1:
@neeraj-wadhwa-cc With the latest versions of SC, you don't use worker variable anymore, you can use this referecence from inside the run method of the worker instance. See https://socketcluster.io/#!/docs/api-scworker
Neeraj Wadhwa
@neeraj-wadhwa-cc
@jondubois this reference will work inside the run() method but I want to publish the event from inside my request controller (express) which exists in a different file, how to achieve this?

Hi, I am deploying socketcluster on aws, was wondering how many broker instances I need per worker instance.
Neeraj Wadhwa
@neeraj-wadhwa-cc
@benchudev Hi, I am using one broker per instance for our prod servers.
