Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 00:09
make sure you post it on git so I can wrap it around the app framework
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:09
Alright
When it's partially working
or when the layout is done atleast
@jaredallard
how do I make that test user-card div be centered, but still 50% width?
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 00:11
i got so much science... then THEY ALL DIED
so you want to center a div eh?

margin-right:auto;
margin-left:auto;

usually works.

Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:12
ya
alright
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 00:12
but only when it has a set width; i.e 50%
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:12
K that worked
it's like perfect
but the background is still white
And yes, body & html background color are that darker red.
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 00:14
bg is whatever html & body background-color is?
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:15

Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:23
That icon is the :star: emoji

Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 00:26
it's bad :b
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:26
meh
how can I add a space between two divs (vertically?)
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 00:26
whitespace. or using margin
margin-bottom or margin-top etc
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:28
margin worked
OK, there's one issue to resolve now
the awfully bad CSS
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:46
oh god
OH FUCKING DAMNIT
Uncaught ReferenceError: require is not defined
worst part? I don't even have any JS
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:54
@jaredallard I maked things :D
@jaredallard can we make a module for better addition of HTML @ run-time?
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 00:59
damn you git
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 01:01

Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 01:10
appending a long string = not fun
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 01:11
@jaredallard can we make a module for better addition of HTML @ run-time?
plz explain
also getting annoyed at KSP
so will probably commit that stuff soon
and perhaps write some stuff for ciel as well
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 01:11
I mean a library
that allows you to do this:
element.append({
    type: "div",
    children: [
         {
           type: "p",
           inner: "hello, world!
         }
     ]
})
unless you already can
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 01:13
Well, not sure you can LIKE that.
but jQuery can probably do it.
or something else
that might be good enough
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 01:13
that takes a string.
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 01:13
oh, yea.
i could write something that does that.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 01:14
<3
make it part of the app framework
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 01:14
will do.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 01:14
manipulation of the DOM (or whatever) is important for apps
and with an object it's easier to generate it
@jaredallard we should ship twimber-minimal with ciel (lol)
but I gtg now
bai!
Jared Allard
@jaredallard
Jun 16 2015 01:17
I totally could, but make it more app like.
and see ya!
Jared Allard
@jaredallard

@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 19:58
@SquidDev no redesign on my end
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:03

Everything has changed:

  • Time stamps are on the right and aren't relative anymore.
  • Chat rooms have the organisation's icon
  • Commit messages are purple
  • @ Mentions are underlined instead of in a box.

I can't cope :(

Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:03
Oh.
Now I see that.
I can't see the stamps anymore
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:04
GitHub redesigned their header last week and I was so disoriented.
The time stamps are really faded on the far right hand side.

Oh.

I tried to use the Looking Glass API today. My computer is a potato though so it doesn't work. :(
Just saw someone use ` instead of '. ??
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:13
Looking Glass?

SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:13
Have you seen iChun's doors mod?
It is like that but written for Mystcraft.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:13
Nope.
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:13
So you can render one world inside another.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:13
OH don't care then.
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:13
Like portals.
I wanted to write a turtle camera. Because I can.

OH don't care then.

I swear your range of interests is so narrow.

@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:15
It's true.

Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:18
I care for interesting things
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:18
C# is interesting. Java is interesting.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:18
C# is proprietary.
Java is proprietary.
proprietary negates interesting
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:19
C# is open source, Java is open source.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:19
No, Java is not open source.
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:19
OpenJDK?
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:19
OpenJDK is not the Oracle thing people refer to as Java.
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:20
I would count both Java and C# as the language and VM specification. The OpenJDK VM is an 100% correct implementation, and therefore counts as Java.
I lack morals.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:20
Still, C# only works on Windows.
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:20
So I disagree with "proprietary negates interesting"
I can't link from a week ago, but I'm pretty sure the MS CLR runs on Linux & Mac now.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:21
don't care
Mono still produces PE files
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:21
Our discussion has literally gone in circles.
I think we will have to agree to differ. :P
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:22
not a sane format such as ELF64 or Mach-O.
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:23
Git is written in a mix of C, Bash and Perl. No programmer does 'sane'.
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:23
Git is C.
the build toolk are Bash and Perl.
Plus, ELF is faster and smaller
Mainly because PE is for Windows and windows is heavy and everything for it is bloatware
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:24
Do you write Java, because you sure are using Generics...
Programmer insults!
Matheus Magalhães de Alcantara
@demhydraz
Jun 16 2015 20:25
No, I don't.
SquidDev
@SquidDev
Jun 16 2015 20:25
Come to think of it, Generics are much more a .Net pattern.
I'm stuck between: 'I want to write code' and 'I can't mod with chrome open'. Choices!
