    @beechware
    Ok cool either way. Hope the assembly’s fun thanks for the heads up and see you soon
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    hi guys, can either of you get the node-blog to be a git page so people can view it like: http://team-sord-github.io/node-blog ? I've tried the way it explains here by creating a gh-pages and then committing some change but no joy.
    David Beech
    @beechware
    I’ll start looking into it.
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    thank you. Has Olu come in today?
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    Nope, I'm considering it, just feeling a bit weird bipolar wise
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    Are you bi-polar?
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    I thought that straight after I typed it "if I haven't told them this'll be a weird way to introduce it" lol, I swear I've mentioned it but maybe to other people, sorry
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    Nope I would have remembered that! Geez you should have said. Take whatever time you need! Will you stay in London this weekend or go to your Ma?
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    My mum's actually gone to Nigeria for a while but she's not very good at all this, so I'll stay in London. I'm fine working from here I just avoid going out, still a bit iffy with the tube and certain drowsy making meds, just being cautious!
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    Okay, well if you want any company this weekend and no one's around then you're welcome at mine! Two kids running around won't probably do you any good though!
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    If there's anything I can do remotely let me know also
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    I've pushed some changes to have tidier code.
    David, any luck with getting the git page up? Olu is usually our team guru if you can help at all?
    It would be good to have the user auth stuff in but also would be good to archive the blogs by month and have an 'archive' section in the right sidebar. take your pick! Styling as always could be improved. Need an 'edit' button on an open blog (e.g. on a blogpage) as currently you select edit in the nav bar and then have to select a blog from the right side bar
    David Beech
    @beechware
    No luck as of yet...
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    any luck since? how's it been going? will you present our app?
    David Beech
    @beechware
    Hey Sarah I’ve been mostly working on understanding the node stuff. Won’t be presenting our app today. Have a fab weekend Sorders
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    okay fair enough. can you let everyone know i did finish it but that you don't feel comfortable presenting it? I don't wnat people to think i didnt do anything all week.
    appreciated!
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    Sorry for being late again, I should be there by one, must have turned my alarm off
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    I just thought of you at that very second! How are you feeling?
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    A lot better thanks :)
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    var query = db.getPosts(); query.sort( {date: 'descending'} ).exec( function (err, posts) { console.log( 'In getPostsForSideBar - query.exec : ' + posts ); allPosts = posts; renderOtherPane( allPosts ); });
    var query = db.getPosts(); query.sort( {date: 'descending'} ).exec( function (err, posts) { console.log( 'In getPostsForSideBar - query.exec : ' + posts ); allPosts = posts; renderOtherPane( allPosts ); });
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    Request.payload is the right place to start. Then it's possibly request.payload.parse after that. Search for 'payload' on this page for explanation. http://hapijs.com/api#request-properties
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    Thanks :)
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    It looks like request.payload might just be a json object according to this s/o ( http://stackoverflow.com/questions/26209368/hapi-how-to-parse-the-payload-to-json) but might need to do json.parse. Play about once you get the test working.
    David Beech
    @beechware
    Cheers Sarah, i’ll have a look
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    Some info on the config section of server.route on this page(http://hapijs.com/tutorials/routing), search for 'config'
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    what am i supposed to be testing again? @sarahabimay got the two started tests to work at least
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    !! Oh no! I hope you worked it out! We need to test the POST route so need to inject a POST request with some blog data (this will be the payload)
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    $ curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{ "author": "Matt Hernandez", "text": "Hapi is amazingly useful for building APIs." }' -i http://localhost:3000/quote
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf-8
    Content-Length: 80
    Cache-Control: no-cache
    Connection: keep-
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    I'll push our changes to GitHub later. The tests are broken cuz of the Auth stuff so I'll mention that in the readme if I can't fix it. Got the homepage slightly rendered.
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    I'll be in late (by 11)
    Code commit failed but you can see the code in the commit diffs if you want to go through it this mornjng
    David Beech
    @beechware
    It’s just me and Rory so far so I think you’ll be right on time
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    lol.
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    If you're coming in before 12:30 could you pick up some toilet paper? Thx!
    Olu Niyi-Awosusi
    @oluoluoxenfree
    Ha ha, sure
    I'll probably get in around that time t
    Didn't realise the time at all, had to do laundry in moving prep
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    It's ok Dan is going now
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    just realized there's no real point in using jquery as we need to access the cache/db and can't see how we can do that from jquery..
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    actually, we can use ajax from jquery script and then get the results of database(or cache) lookup (done by the server) in the callback... I'm looking into that now.. I'm working from the hotel for a bit this morning.. let me know if they schedule anything first thing
    David Beech
    @beechware
    will do
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    pushed some changes. I went for an easy option...
    Sarah Johnston
    @sarahabimay
    How went the pres yesterday?
