for to mention, i talked to pay pal, i spoke with them regarding opening up some sort of joint account with multiple admins. They said just upgrading from a personal to a business account would work just fine. I have one already I can switch all my personal info out and leave it general, then ill add you two as admins. We'll just take compensation through there and split it from there, when I spoke to out-source.com a few days ago, over the phone, they said pay pall is the most commonly used, so that means most, if not all, of our clients will be using it as well.

So how Out-source.com works is this: You create an account and mention your reverent skills that apply to you, or your group. Such as Wordpress, Web design, PhP, etc..
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 17:42
are u signing up right now?
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 17:42
Then once your "skill set" is filled it, the site starts to automatically send you "job requests".
These jobs are chosen based off the skills you entered.
No, firday
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 17:43
oh ok
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 17:43
So in order to contact any of the job posters "project" owners, we must place an average bid of 9 credits.
we get 40 credits a month
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 17:44
hmm. so i guess well have to put in some money
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 17:44
they have up to 5 days to view our "message/offer".
no
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 17:44
no?
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 17:45
ill take care of it
okay
so
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 17:45
ok
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 17:45
where was i
oh ya
if they don't view our message within the 5 day period, we get the credits back
so our account is automaticaly filled once again with 40 credits a month to bud with and if we have more than 1 credit left over at the end of the month, all remaining credits roll over to the next month, so we are technically buying a lot of credits for a one time fee.
Im going to pay for the most expensive plan, also the one that gives the most credits
its $39.99 a month, but Is required to may the 6 months up front so totaling around $107.99
The 40 credits will be instantly transferred into our Out-source account as soon as I make the purchase, from there on 40 credits once again will be transferred into out account once a month
Other than that, i mentioned the pay pall account up top. Ill just switch my current pay pal account, I don't use it, to a business account, then Ill add you both as addmins
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 17:50
from there we can either, to make everyone feel safe, create our OWN serape pay Pal accounts to transfer our splits to from each project. Now most people will do a % up front, then another during and the large sum after we have completed the project.
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 17:50
ok... once we start bringin in money we can switch it to take out the monthly fee from our business account instead of one of us paying for it
i already have a paypal account setup :)
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 17:51
Im thinking we can EACH take a turn splitting the compensation form the major account and go around so we all hand out our currency
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 17:51
?
im confused? lol
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 17:52

for every project one person will use the major account to pass out dividend to the rest of the team. and we will switch off after every project.
So for example let's say we have 3 projects (proj1,proj2,proj3). I will manage the "business" account for proj1 and pass out the dividends to colton and charzoe. then for proj2 charzoe will manage the business account and be in charge of passing out the dividends to me and colton and finally for proj3 colton will be in charge of handing out the dividends to me and charzoe. and then we repeat cycle.

Do either of you have a timeline on a client yet?
Colton Ehrman

TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 21:34
this friday, ill set up the account to obtaining messaging to clients, which some have already been found. After that it normally takes, from what I was told, 1-5 days to receive a reply
so we should be in contact with potential clients by next friday
Charlotte
@Charzoe
Oct 14 2015 21:36
Okay, awesome
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 21:38
Just for practice you know
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 21:42
BTW!!!!! I just want to make sure the two of you know, we all three, together, will decide which projects to accept, another words I just want to make sure each person feels %100 confident in them selves for whatever the project is we bid on. I don't want to place bids if someone feels like it is "to much" or perhaps if someone is taking on WAY more work than the other. SO, that being said, suggestions are welcome always!
Charlotte
@Charzoe
Oct 14 2015 21:43
Sounds good to me!
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 21:44
cool!
honestly im going to use a fake-it-till-you-make-it attitude for this :p
works amazing!
if i dont know it. i will figure it out
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 21:51
sounds good, I don't want to have anyone "hold them selves back" by doubting there abilities, BUT I don't want to have anyone BITE off a piece larger than they can "chew", if you know what I mean ^ ^
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 21:52
lol yeh i know.
if i completely never heard of something then ill be like no cant do that lol
TheC0mposer

Oct 14 2015 22:17
okay what?
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 22:17
u wanna get started on that elgg thing?
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 22:17
oh
here, lets have charzoe take a look and see what she thinks, I was just considering on learning how to do it for clientele, not for us, maybe after a portfolio, it could help us market out selves a little more.."professionally", and bring in other "opportunities".
here
BAM
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 22:23
I think its like wordpress but for specific kinds of websites, most likely static, so blogging, social networking, etc
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 22:27
no its no wordpress lol
ill brb goin to eat :p
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 22:30
kk, this might sounds dumb, and I hate to look stupid in front of my team, BUT what if we used it to make a portfolio for our clients to socialize on, bringing them business THROUGH us, with each other, just a thought BUT I think that is to..out of our reason.
so our portfolio would be like a "crossroads" for business, bringing out clientele back over and over, for the sake of "marketing" there own product to our "other" clients. Worse comes to worse we just have a really "unique" portfolio that has more than "one" purpose, one being marketing our selves.
Charlotte
@Charzoe
Oct 14 2015 23:12
Sounds like a good idea to me
And i don't think it would be bwyond my ability
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:17
hmmm i dont know. i feel like we need to keep our clients seperate from each other
make them feel like we work for them and only them u kno
we could tho have our portfolio be our interaction "portal" with each of our clients
and we can create a new "portal" for every new client
that way we can easily keep track of our clients files/info/data/etc all in one place instead of me having the files seth having the info and charzoe having the data
itll all go into that portal provided via our porfolio
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:21
What I should of typed clearer was it wouldn't be "out of our ability" to actually make it happen, I was implying we might just not "need" to make such a socialization feature, perhaps it would be to different from a tradintional portfolio. @coltonehrman that is what I was considering, however referencing WOULD be nice, that way we don't"need" to eat Out-source and other freelancing sites, BUT there may be no reason NOT to.
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:22
true. i feel like once we get going and start completeinh projects and building our portfolio it will kind of market itself
and people will be comeing to us from out of nowhere
we need to make sure that we are active in our industry tho
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:22
@coltonehrman so have our portfolio be not just a portfolio but ALSO, on our side, a "database" for client information, so we can have notes of what we did for them if we take on future work
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:22
meaning joining different forums, communities, contributing to open source etc
exactly @TheC0mposer
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:23
@coltonehrman yes that last part you mentioned is what i was getting at, to concentrate on "our" line of work.
@coltonehrman sounds like someone wants to make a Database :)
lol
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:24
LOL i do!
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:25
lol I think we found our calling, thats why, later down the road, I'd like to get into neural networking in A.I. development, its pretty much like D.B.s but more..umm..Moore..lol
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:25
xD
its a self building database!
one that will build and maintain itself
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:26
exactly :)
hence, A.I.
apache is an OS right?
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:27
im not really sure but i dont think so
i would consider it just software
yeah its software
server software in perticular
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:28
kk, its a open source web server
mostly used for linux
think Ill use that with linux once I get that tough book
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:29
yup
MAMP uses apache
and mac is UNIX based so its a lot like linux
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:31
now I'm digging on ubuntu
i thin its a OS that has a community server avalbile
Available*
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:32
community service?
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:32
like the MySQL one you can download
idk i didn't get much on it, yet
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:32
i use ubuntu with my linux laptop
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:33
what is it
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:33
its a flavor of linux
its the OS
theres a really cool pen testing linux OS called Kali Linux
another OS sort of like ubuntu is Linux Mint OS
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:37
oohhh
okay
i gotcha
why did u choose ubuntu, when I get my tough book Ill have to pick a linux OS type
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:38
ubuntu is recommended for people just getting started with linux
its like a beginner level linux distro
also its really popular and has lots of support
so if u ever need help with something or something goes wrong u are more likley to get help
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:39
niice
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:39
yup linux mint is another good one
beginner,popular, and lots of support
also i think its suppose to be lightweight
kali linux on the other hand is more for advanced users
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:40
but ill just hop to Gentoo
HA jk jk
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:40
xD
the cool thing about distros like kali is they come with all kinds of preinstalled software
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:42
okay so distros are more or less diff flavors of linux and people tend to pick there linux distro based on what they do, so its like a IDE or GUI for an OS
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:42
exatly!
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:43
thats so cool
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:43
u can even build ur own distro
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:43
so in a way IDE, GUI, distros, frameworks, all help you be a badass
thaats siick
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:43
yeh xD
i wouldnt say GUI tho
GUI are for newbs xp
CLI is the way
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:51
isn't work bench a gui?
what dose CLI stand for and how dose it compete with gui
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:51
yeh workbench is a gui
CLI stands for command line interface
it is more powerful than GUI
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:52
command line is for windows, is there one for terminal or perhaps linux
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:52
terminal is a CLI
just different names
they are all CLI
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:52
but you can't write SQL statements in terminal like you can work bench? right?
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:53
yes u can
it was in the treehouse course
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:53
ooooo :)
swEEeeet
I'm on alternating columns atm
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:54
lol yeh
nice
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:54
so instead of running the MySQL local server in workbench you run it through MAMP and use terminal for query statements?
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:55
u would need to connect to the server with terminal i think with the command phpmyadmin
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:56
innnteerresting
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:56
start up mamp servers and then go to terminal and type in this /Applications/MAMP/Library/bin/mysql --host=localhost -uroot -proot
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:57
so if terminal is for mac and command line is for windows..
what is for linux?
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
Oct 14 2015 23:58
terminal also
TheC0mposer
@TheC0mposer
Oct 14 2015 23:58
kk
Colton Ehrman
@coltonehrman
