@TheGoddessInari: - I have raised a couple of PRs, please review and approve if they are ok. They are quite small/trivial - just getting my hands wet with the codebase

Also - there are a bunch of lines in the README.md (lines 19 - 27) which don't show up in the html generated from the markdown, and I couldn't understand their purpose. Are these lines kept for some specific reason?

I see a lot of the code is written in commonJS module format. Is it better to convert ot ES module format (ie with imports)? Based on some reading, this is supposed to be the new standard and faster at runtime?

@BKPepe
@vraravam:matrix.org You should move rather to Ferdi. I stopped using Hamsket a few months ago.

@BKPepe - I was one of 2 active owners/contributors of Ferdi for the past 8+ months. The original owner who was absent all these months, came back suddenly and started abusing (with lots of expletives) and then (without citing any reasons) downgraded me to a Member role. With such autocratic behavior and the use of derogatory words (I have a screenshot captured in case I need to refute it in future), I and my co-contributor (the other active person for the past few monhts) have both abandoned Ferdi
I was instrumental in almost all the new features, bug fixes, upgrades over the past 8+ months, and have lots of ideas that I would like implemented in Hamsket.

Of course I have gitter set up to notify & it doesn't. 😋

Please do review the PRs that I have raised - would love to get them merged in soon

@rayvermey
@vraravam:matrix.org So you are developing for Hamsket now?
vraravam
@vraravam:matrix.org
[m]
@rayvermey: - is that a good thing or a bad one? (me contributing to hamsket)
Ray Vermey
@rayvermey
Well i can only welcome the developper of Ferdi joining Hamsket !
I used Ferdi untill begin december
and started separeate apps again
Ferdi was too unstable for me
I run Arch btw :-)

yes, the deb was ok, but flatpak and snap were not good. The code was the same, but the packaging (electron-builder) was somehow not working properly
I run it on macs - both x86 and arm - and was able to test all features on both.
Ray Vermey
@rayvermey
so there will be new developments on Hamsket?
Then I will install it again from the aur or is git better?

I plan to contribute to hamsket and move to using hamsket as the full-time app - if i can get my head wrapped around the extjs library. btw, I'm not a javascript developer - and will take time to get up-to-speed in the related tech stacks
try nightly - btw, i dont want to hijack this room about hamsket - and talk about ferdi. if you need more info, please DM me
Ray Vermey
@rayvermey
This is the hamsket room and we talk about hamsket do we ? :-)

oh - i thought you were talking about ferdi. for hamsket, i have only raised a couple of trivial PRs - which haven't been accepted (i assume holidays are delaying)
for hamsket, i was able to get it compiling from source, and based on that milestone, i have raised the PRs
Ray Vermey
@rayvermey
ok i will try the nightly of Hamsket then
@TheGoddessInari on AUR the nightly's are marked as orphaned
Ray Vermey
@rayvermey
Hmm hamsket says for the Gmail service that my browser or app is not safe :-)
so no hamsket for me then

you can override the user-agent from the advanced tab of the service - its working for me (both personal gmail as well as for enterprise use with okta SSO)

@rayvermey
Ah ok! thank you!

Hello, I (re)discovered hamsket after my Ferdi broke from a combination of Wayland + Flatpak Sandboxing. Checked the github for issues and discovered the lead dev has gone rogue. Just a question, are there any plan to put Hamsket on Flatpak?

Hi!
How can I persist css changes in hamsket?
I couldn't find docs about it

this app is very close to rambox so its likely works similarly

Thank you, @lesnake:matrix.org . I get to https://github.com/ramboxapp/community-edition/wiki/Inject-JavaScript-Code but I don't know where to put this snippet
