I'm going to make everyone use Firefox and pretend the dev tools in Chrome are unsuitable for developers
L. P. Soai-Van
@leosoaivan
are the devtools even that different?

a lot of things suck about chrome but the devtools aren't one of them

The sources tab in Chrome works a lot better than Firefox. The audit tab is quite cool too...
ryanford-frontend
@ryanford-frontend
i think they have some features stock or available that aren't available in ff - like performance tab, accessibility audits
Rhys
@105ron
Accessibility audits are now in Firefox :cool:

@ryanford-frontend
i think saving local changes in the debugger to local files and stuff was picked up by ff
i don't use chrome anymore, but when i first switched i did notice some features missing

Thoughts on cutting out WSL from Installfest?
It's a PITA
ryanford-frontend
@ryanford-frontend
i think it's opened the door for a lot of new students that maybe wouldn't have tried TOP if they had to switch to real linux
Briggs Elsperger
@I3uckwheat
@ryanford-frontend what about a VM?
ryanford-frontend
@ryanford-frontend
could be they were using VMs all along and just didn't get noticed because they weren't having problems
Briggs Elsperger
@I3uckwheat
That's true. I'd like to see a questionnaire or something for people to fill out

@105ron I added those new lines in "Restaurant page" lesson because the Assignment section on that page was looking little confusing

and maybe it's looking fine now

Hello! I'm working through the Web Dev 101 course, and I really enjoyed doing the HTML and CSS Codecademy courses as part of The Front End. I'm wondering if there's a reason that the Codecademy course for JavaScript isn't used in the next course (JavaScript Basics). If there's some interest in incorporating Codecademy resources into the JavaScript basics module, it's something that I'd be happy to work on.
Briggs Elsperger
@I3uckwheat
@leila-alderman Generally we try to avoid using codecademy for a lot. It holds your hand too much and it doesn't give you experience in a real development environment.
Rhys
@105ron
But you are welcome to use it if you find it beneficial for yourself of course :smile:

Hi, I just finished the Rock Paper Scissors console project in Web Development 101: JavaScript Basics - I recently addressed this forum - but was wondering if it was possible to put the project after the JavaScript Fundamentals Part 4. The project, at least as far as I can tell, requires loops (and benefits from arrays) but comes before the section covering both of those topics (again: JavaScript Fundamentals pt. 4). This caused a small headache for me, and after some googling/looking at the forum seems like it slowed down a few others as well.
