@BassemMohamed If you're interested, you can write the article for The Renegade Coder. I'll have to get you an account if you don't already have one: https://therenegadecoder.com/members/account/

@BassemMohamed
@chrboe i am using the regular git command line, this is my first time collaborating in open source repo, so in the past the cmd was enough for any work related/personal related repos
@chrboe i think i know how to prevent the prevouis problem from happening, I will sync the fork first using a pull request (fork << main) before doing my pull request (fork >> main)
Bassem Mohamed
@BassemMohamed
@jrg94 yes sure, i tried to sign up, but the link is not currently working https://therenegadecoder.com/members/registration/

@chrboe
@BassemMohamed I think there's a misunderstanding; I was hoping you were using the command line because it's awesome and i love it 😁
the way i have it set up is that I've cloned my fork (so the local master branch always points to my fork) and I've added an additional remote for the "main" repo
using git remote add upstream https://github.com/therenegadecoder/sample-programs
that way i can do git fetch upstream, git checkout master, git rebase upstream/master, git push at any time to sync my fork with the main repo

@chrboe
btw, don't worry if all the git stuff is really confusing at first. i reckon it takes most people years to really get a solid understanding of it (me definitely included). fwiw i think you're doing a great job for your first contribution 👍
Bassem Mohamed
@BassemMohamed
@chrboe yeah the love for command line is strong :D , thanks @chrboe , I KNEW IT, i knew i have to do a branch sooner or later, but bec i never did it before, i tried putting it off for later :D ( the easier approach ) okai thats enough! i will check out a tutorial and see what the above commands do, thanks alot for your help

@chrboe
sure thing, feel free to hit me up if you need anything

@jrg94
@BassemMohamed You're totally right! That should be fixed now.
As in, the registration link is fixed: https://therenegadecoder.com/members/registration/
Did you notice any other broken links like that?
Bassem Mohamed
@BassemMohamed
No that was the only broken link for me, and i did some heavy navigation :D

@BassemMohamed

@jrg94
I can’t access the doc for whatever Reason. Are you able to upload your doc to the site as a draft?
If you’re logged in, you should be able to see the backend using the following link: therenegadecoder.com/admin

Hey all, I decided to branch chats out into their own streams, so discussions are more project specific. I don't know if this is useful to anyone, but I figured it should cut down on the clutter in this chat.

@mraza007
Wow enthusiasm in this irc is great 👍🏻
Should we also write technical posts like how to
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
What kind of technical posts would yo be interested in writing?
Muhammad
@mraza007
Like using python to scrape web
There are a lot of topics
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
That sounds fun! I’m open to it.
Muhammad
@mraza007
I’ll come up with ideas
Hey if you don’t mind can I ask what are like traffic stats
For the website
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
Sure! Stats are mediocre at best. Haha up until last week, I was getting like 50-100 views a day. One of my articles took off on Google recently, so it’s skewed the stats a bit. I’ve averaged like 350 a day for the past week or so.
Muhammad
@mraza007
Wow that’s really nice
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
Yeah it’s not bad. Though, I’ve been writing for about 2 years, so the growth has been painfully slow haha
Muhammad
@mraza007
It’s totally okay it will grow soon
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
I hope so :smile:

@jrg94
One of our contributors had a great idea to start tagging our issues with hacktoberfest. Hopefully, we’ll start getting some more engagement this month!
Muhammad
@mraza007
Yup hopefully
By the i built this first expressjs api
