@jrg94
Hey all, I decided to branch chats out into their own streams, so discussions are more project specific. I don't know if this is useful to anyone, but I figured it should cut down on the clutter in this chat.

@mraza007
Wow enthusiasm in this irc is great 👍🏻
Should we also write technical posts like how to
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
What kind of technical posts would yo be interested in writing?
Muhammad
@mraza007
Like using python to scrape web
There are a lot of topics
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
That sounds fun! I’m open to it.
Muhammad
@mraza007
I’ll come up with ideas
Hey if you don’t mind can I ask what are like traffic stats
For the website
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
Sure! Stats are mediocre at best. Haha up until last week, I was getting like 50-100 views a day. One of my articles took off on Google recently, so it’s skewed the stats a bit. I’ve averaged like 350 a day for the past week or so.
Muhammad
@mraza007
Wow that’s really nice
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
Yeah it’s not bad. Though, I’ve been writing for about 2 years, so the growth has been painfully slow haha
Muhammad
@mraza007
It’s totally okay it will grow soon
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94

Hey everyone. Just noticed I've been added to the core team and happy to be here. Quick question. What is the policy for pull requests now? Should I continue making pull requests from my fork, or am I okay now to just us a branch in the upstream repo?
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
Feel free to make a branch off the repo. Be aware that I do typically delete branches after they’re merged though.
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
While we're here: just wanted to say I've been a little busy lately, so sorry if pull requests have just been chilling. I'm going to try to get to them today.
@Noah11012 has been doing an excellent job of merging those.
Jeremy Grifski
@jrg94
Hey! It’s been awhile! We have a few milestones I’d like to hit before the end of the year if anyone is interested in helping. First off, 250 snippets. We’re really close already. I think we’re about 30 away. Also, I’d like to hit the 100 article milestone. We can do that easily if anyone wants to help transition the original articles to the new site.

@mraza007

@jrg94
Cool stuff! I’ve used it a bit but I’m bad with JavaScript. Haha it’s fun when you finally get a nice graph.
Muhammad
@mraza007
Thats true and I totally agree with you but the graph looks really cool

@jrg94 or anyone else who is interested: I have almost finished splitting out our run/testing framework into a new project. I have named it glotter: https://github.com/auroq/glotter

Currently there's no documentation on the new repo, but that will change soon.

If you're interested in seeing what it looks like when implemented into a project, take a look at the diff here:

https://github.com/TheRenegadeCoder/sample-programs/compare/master...glotter

The two main pieces are the .glotter. yml file which is settings and configuration for glotter and runner.py which is the integration for the runner. There are also 3 decorators that are used for integration with tests and project types.

I'm still working on some integration with pytest/test running, but you should be able to use the run or download commands with no trouble.

Start with python runner.py --help for usage instructions.
