Hi there, I'm trying to understand how I can influence the random path option, but it doesn't seem to get picked up.
Is there an example I can take a look at?
I want to fully determine the path and get the random stuff out of the way
Rutger Heijmerikx
@heijmerikx
Trying to install the rc leaves me with: "npm ERR! version not found: s3-uploader@1.1.0-rc.1"
Hans Kristian Flaatten
@Starefossen
I have to take a look when I get home why the version is not in npm 😕
Regarding the random path stuff, there is an ongoing discussion/pr in #46 you should take a look at.
Hans Kristian Flaatten
@Starefossen
@heijmerikx there was some mixup with the version published to npm, it should be fixed now :)
Rutger Heijmerikx

Hi guys, a small question, the first argument of upload method is the src, in the example the source is '/some/image.jpg'
is there a way to upload from a binary
i mean what if push an image from the front, and i want to handle that in the back
i dont want to upload from an url src
i'm i understanding this correctly? Or should i make other approach. Thanks in advance!
Hans Kristian Flaatten
@Starefossen
It is currently not possible to upload images from streams, buffers, or other binary channels.

Hi there. I am trying to decide on a technology to store documents, and since I am already hosting on AWS I thought s3 might be a good solution. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to restrict access to documents in s3 on a per-request basis? I am thinking that I will have an API that will issue URLs to s3, but to enable/disable access to them depending on authentication etc.
Hans Kristian Flaatten
@Starefossen
No, that is not possible. Either you should proxy the download (eg. your app downloads the document and serving it to your authenticated users) or you should use randomly generated urls which means that you can not guess other public URLs unless you get the url from the API.
