@basarat I've noticed that atom.d.ts in this repo differs significantly from the one in DefinitelyTyped. Some methods are missing, a lot of methods have been added (e.g. onDidChangeActivePaneItem and other event subscriptions). Is there a reason why they are maintained separately? Wouldn't it be better and easier for everybody to push changes from this repo to the main branch of DT?

Guys, great work! But wanted to ask what's happening with 5. releases? I have to press cmd+s two times to clear typescript errors. So basically I'm constantly pressing cmd+s to see if IO have any errors. Since 5. I have installed every release and then rolled back to 4.8.2 which is the latest one that works normally. I know it's probably connected with linter team, but any chance of fixing that? Thanks!

In my files list I have a file called source/AuthorizeStep.ts. In a file source/app.ts I have an import from 'source/AuthorizeStep' but I am getting an error saying TSC couldn't find the file.
If I change it to import from 'AuthorizeStep' it works.
But then it will break at runtime because there is no file at ./AuthorizeStep.
I suppose this is really a TypeScript compiler question...
Hmm... nevermind. I just changed it back to source/AuthorizeStep from AuthorizeStep and it can find it now... maybe atom just took a while to notice the new file?

hello, how i can turn off auto TSLint while I write code? Probably, it freezes my atom :(
Micah Zoltu
@MicahZoltu
You can disable atom-typescript alltogether, is that what you want?
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat

how i can turn off auto TSLint

We don't tslint (https://www.npmjs.com/package/tslint) ... we give ts compiler errors. But as suggested there isn't a way to switch it off at a granular level

Yeah a reconciliation needs to be done. I've been focused on updating the defs locally only. Anybody is free to PR upstream

Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat

@tomitrescak I've created an issue report on atomlinter : AtomLinter/Linter#707

Took some tinkering to figure out the actual source of the bug. Hopefully you can give 5.x a go again after its fixed :rose:

Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat
Turns out its fixed on their master. I knew someone else will hit it an fix it :)
Jari Pennanen
@Ciantic
@basarat how can I see which TS version is in atom? I gather you are patching it with stuff, I'm wondering when it might include this: Microsoft/TypeScript#3708
that was probably quickest fix from my suggestion to pull request someone had already in cooked
considering it's a breaking change, they did it pretty fast
kpgarrod
@kpgarrod
Is there a webpack ts loader that is compatible with the a-t compiler atm?
I have a project that builds without errors in a-t, but when I try to build it with awesome-typescript-loader it has hundreds of errors
helarqjsc
@helarqjsc
@basarat I've created a PR here: borisyankov/DefinitelyTyped#4852
There are probably some other typing files that have local only changes, right? I'll see if there are any later and create PR if needed
What causes an emit error? I want to get it for test purposes, but anything I come up with results in "compilation error, but emit succeeded" :D

@basarat so atom-typescript doesn't have config? :I
aw
i think, instant recompiling is freezing my atom sometimes.
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat

Is there a webpack ts loader that is compatible with the a-t compiler atm

@kpgarrod use compiler ntypescript : https://github.com/jbrantly/ts-loader/blob/master/test/jsx/webpack.config.js

What causes an emit error?

@helarqjsc They actually always emit : https://github.com/Microsoft/TypeScript/issues/2290#issuecomment-78204940

how can I see which TS version is in atom?

@Ciantic we use ntypescript. Check package.json for version. Since fix is two days ago I think its already merged into atom-typescript

kpgarrod
@kpgarrod
@basarat: great, that works, thanks

@Mig1st4ck I don't know if it matters, but does getAllRows() return something?
Dan Quirk
@danquirk
how come I get the 'some dependencies not found, running apm install for you' notification every time I restart Atom?
it always finds what it needs and gets my TypeScript stuff working but it seems like it shouldn't need to do that every time?
Cu3PO42
@Cu3PO42
I… don’t get that. Just checked three installations.
