I don't know what is the error, I suggest you to put more options at the settings dialog, maybe I need to disable some of compiler checks that the plugin does
I only need grammar and autocomplete nothing more :P
anyway I will wait for the next release for the .tsx issue, if you want more details about this bug tell me to write them at the github site

I have this laggy problem with sublime text too, so it's not atom-typescript problem because that I decided to downgrade my operating system to win7 from win10 ( I tried many linux distros but my wifi usb is not supported :/ ) ..

@kpgarrod
@kataras I briefly tried to use atom with Windows 8.1 and soon installed Ubuntu 15.10. Have you tried Ubuntu recently? It has pretty decent device support these days and is Much nicer to develop on than windows IMHO. I haven't been following this conversation, but what is sourceMap set to in tsconfig?

Does anyone know how I can get the atom-typescript linter to recognize imports from node_modules? My code compiles fine; webpack has no problem finding packages referenced in its modulesDirectories property. A simple line like import {App, Platform, StatusBar} from 'ionic/ionic'; shows up as a linter error despite compiling and running without error. Example:

Error: Cannot find module 'ionic/ionic’ at line 1 col 40 in www/app/app.ts;

Why is there a constant spinning Github (pending requests) icon with an increasing number beside it (now 8450)?

@kpgarrod I tried Ubuntu 15.10, I tried Opensuse Leap too, I tried xubuntu, kubuntu, lInux mint
at Opensuse the driver couldnt be installed, at Ubuntu installed but when I connect to the internet all system is down- just stack I couldn't move my mouse, keyboard, control+escp nothing worked, at linix mint installed but couldn't see it at my wifi devices lol
my usb wifi is the Tp-Link T2UH Arher, no problem I installed win7 it goes well atm
@kpgarrod thanks for your interest!

@basarat issue MicroSoft/TypeScript#5729 was causing me all sorts of problems, it is now fixed but of course atom-typescript hasn't refreshed to that yet. Is there any easy way to get atom-typescript to use a newer version of TypeScript or do I just have to wait for a new version of atom-typescript?
Justin Webb
@JustinWebb
@glen-84 No, never fixed it. I ended up filing issue TypeStrong/atom-typescript#735. The result is that my problem is with the Typescript setup in my project... I'm using JS files w/o the linter until I get help or have time to investigate.

@JustinWebb I can't remember, lol. I think it might have been a different issue.

How to see only root tsconfig in project.
because of issue of multiple tsconfig.
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat
@greatelv have the root tsconfig be the one your rarely work on and the inner tsconfig be the one you mostly work on .... sadly you cannot actively work on two projects .... Long term solution is to support user driven project switching
@greatelv alternatively just one one tsconfig and use something like webpack to bundle for the frontend. Thats the approach I'd take on new projects and have taken here : https://github.com/TypeScriptBuilder/tsb/tree/master/src

hi, I am new to typescript. using atom-typescript to generate es6, commonjs transpiled js for nodejs (4.2.2v)
what is the best way to convert js project to typescript one ?
I have renamed the project js files to ts. I am getting following error:
cannot redeclare block-scoped variable <var-name>
thanks
btw, the plugin does ts->js successfully
amit handa
@amit-handa
atom stutters while developing with atom-typescript :(
amit handa
@amit-handa
In Atom, I type 'ctrl+]' to see declaration. what is the shortcut for returning from declaration ?
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat

cannot redeclare block-scoped variable <var-name>

@amit-handa use file modules : https://basarat.gitbooks.io/typescript/content/docs/project/modules.html to ensure each file isolated

In Atom, I type 'ctrl+]' to see declaration. what is the shortcut for returning from declaration ?

@amit-handa Use this package : https://github.com/TypeStrong/atom-typescript/blob/master/docs/packages.md#last-cursor-position in our list of packages we love. :rose:

@amit-handa
Thanks basarat ! Appreciate your book on typescript, its short and sweet.

@amit-handa
@basarat , how do I navigate using this package.
how do I see the declaration of the symbol ?
I understand I can navigate back using Alt+-.
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat

how do I see the declaration of the symbol ?

@amit-handa F12 ... also you can use the command palette to find the commands :rose:

amit handa
@amit-handa
thanks, I do F12, after that, Alt+-, it doesnt go back. I have last-cursor package installed :(
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat
should work ... create issue with last-cursor if it doesn't :rose:
amit handa
@amit-handa
thanks

@kpgarrod
I'm suddenly experiencing a strange issue
some files in my project are being emitted with 0 length
just deleting the emitted file, modifying the source and saving it doesn't help

@glen-84
@basarat I'm getting The project file contains invalid options - Unknown Option: allowSyntheticDefaultImports -- does this option have to be added to Atom TypeScript?
kpgarrod
@kpgarrod
building the project does (sometimes?)
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat

I'm getting The project file contains invalid options - Unknown Option: allowSyntheticDefaultImports -- does this option have to be added to Atom TypeScript?

@glen-84 yes. This is because we error on unknown options as a convinience for mis-spellings . I see the issue : TypeStrong/atom-typescript#762 so will continue discussion there :rose:

building the project does (sometimes?)

@kpgarrod are you using external transpiler option?
