Valentin Robert
@Ptival
I also tried removing filesGlob entirely and putting an empty excludes list, I get errors everywhere
and when I open es6-shim/index.d.ts, it complains about duplicate identifiers
maybe relevant, in my typings/ folder, I have a main.d.ts and a browser.d.ts, with both their subdirectories, not sure why
Valentin Robert
@Ptival
do I need a /// <reference path...> in my files in that setting?
Valentin Robert
@Ptival
@basarat you can see a bit of the setup and issues on this gif http://i.imgur.com/DM2O3yB.gifv not sure it'll help
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat

@Ptival your files glob:

  "filesGlob": [
    "*.ts",
    "coq/*.ts",
    "editor/*.ts",
    "peacoq/*.ts",
    "prooftree/*.ts",
    "typings/main.d.ts"
  ],

Should be :

  "filesGlob": [
    "*.ts",
    "coq/*.ts",
    "editor/*.ts",
    "peacoq/*.ts",
    "prooftree/*.ts",
    "typings/main.d.ts",
    "!typings/browser/**",
    "!typings/browser.d.ts"
  ],
as *.ts matches that

funny stuff, I cant use the file name , main.server.ts it will be always not in compile context
but it compiles to Main.server.ts
yeah with capital letter wtf ?!
is there somekimnf of cache going on ?
I renames the Main.server.ts to main.server.ts before
funky
Valentin Robert
@Ptival
ok I've made some progress, now my remaining issue is that the --ambient version of d3 is worthless, and I don't understand how to make the npm typings work
Eugenio Arosteguy
@euginio
I guys
is there some way to replace text preserving case in atom?
Valentin Robert
@Ptival
@euginio yes, click on the "Aa" button on the right
I still am unable to call tsc -p . succesfully from the command line, even though my project builds under atom-typescript, it misses some interface files somehow
Eugenio Arosteguy
@euginio
Hey @Ptival , the option you mention is for match case in the search, I want an option to "preserve case" in the replacement, for example replace "hello" with "hola" and preserving case it will replace also "Hello" with "Hola" (as in sublime)

@AskYous
Anyone else wish the syntax highlighting was better? I wish it was as good as JavaScript's highlighting in atom.
Leigh Caplan
@texel
Yep, it's pretty terrible for me too
Yousef Shanawany
@AskYous
You think I should open up an issue?
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat
@texel @AskYous we just use the defacto Microsoft version. More : https://github.com/TypeStrong/atom-typescript/blob/master/docs/grammar.md#cson-grammar
@texel @AskYous because of text mate limitations (plus maintenance burden) I'm using a code based grammar for my next WIP project : https://basarat.gitbooks.io/alm/content/features/typescript.html#syntax-highlighting :rose:
Yousef Shanawany
@AskYous
I don't understand that stuff but I'm confident that you guys know what you're doing and it's a burden.
Leigh Caplan
@texel
Hey everyone- looks like someone has opened a ticket for a highlighting issue I've actually been seeing for awhile: TypeStrong/atom-typescript#934
It seriously affects highlighting on Angular 2 projects, which use property decorators pretty heavily
Any idea what's involved to address it?
@basarat sorry I didn't see your response the other day
Leigh Caplan
@texel
So this issue is basically just a reflection of the upstream issues w/ the grammar?
Microsoft/TypeScript-TmLanguage#79
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat
@texel yup :rose:
Leigh Caplan
@texel
@basarat Ha fair enough. So I guess I should go complain in the TS gitter? ;)
Basarat Ali Syed
@basarat
Not really :) The TS team has an amazing code based tokenizer : https://basarat.gitbooks.io/alm/content/contributing/syntax.html Just that not all IDEs have the luxury of spending time on special casing their tokenizer just for the TypeScript compiler :rose:
Leigh Caplan
@texel
Hm ok... I guess I don't know enough about the implementation to speak on it one way or the other. I do know that the handling of decorators is a pain point, and it seems that VS Code and Atom are affected. Just trying to figure out the best way to make the issue visible to someone who would have the knowledge (and time, etc) to fix it.
Basarat Ali Syed

The issue you pointed to is the correct / perfect place Microsoft/TypeScript-TmLanguage#79 :rose:

struggling to get this plugin to ever work :S
sometimes I type and it just endlessly queues tasks, other days I get a load of errors about compilation contexts
Dominic Watson
@intellix
think it's when I have compilation errors, then the TS stuff just fails entirely
if I have one of these errors, it stops functioning entirely: The file "xyz.component.ts" is not included in the TypeScript compilation context. If this is not intended, please check the "files" or "filesGlob" section of your tsconfig.json file.
Dominic Watson
@intellix
still get the feeling that the TS support in Atom is largely unusable and am not sure what's different to how it works in VSC. Are there any settings I can perhaps play with to get something similar?
Dominic Watson
@intellix
I'm using angular-cli to generate a TS project, so have a process running that compiles the stuff. I've turned off compileOnSave as well
David Kontorovsky
@dkontorovsky
Hello! Does anybody know if atom-typescript requires the jsdoc Atom package to generate documentation?
Hum. I just found docblockr and looks very popular. I guess I'll try that.
arun.jayapal
@deostroll
Anyway to minimize the typescript window?
Filype Pereira
@FilypePereira_twitter
can we use atom-typescript and grunt ts at the same time?
I think I had a tsconfig file as well as grunt ts configured. The files were saved in 2 different places. That was a bit confusing
Dominic Watson
@intellix
everytime I come to use atom-typescript, I just got a large queue of tasks within atom: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hmes37me9qanhkj/Screenshot%202016-05-17%2015.06.22.png?dl=0
