@timlevett
for whatever reason i never saw RedirectRenderingPipelineTerminator
i can take a look tomorrow
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
ok thx
it's prob not too many lines of code, but I didn't want to write a separate version and deal with conflicts

@timlevett
@bjagg PR for Terminator appender enhancement Jasig/uPortal#712
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
Thanks Tim!
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
@im
@timlevett Things are looking good with the redirect. Thanks for all your help!
Tim Levett
@timlevett
excellent! glad to hear it

@bjagg
So with the default implementation of Notifications, only a title and link is displayed? Not notification body?
greghollenbaugh
@greghollenbaugh
Is it possible to have different portlet/tile title colors?
Tim Levett
@timlevett
@bjagg - correct, no body. If you wanted to add in the possibility of body that would be a great edition
@greghollenbaugh - currently all icons in compact mode are black, but that could be a good enhancement, maybe in the widgetConfig
In expanded mode the widget con be whatever you want, but default to similar to the compact mode.
Tim Levett
@timlevett
created UW-Madison-DoIT/angularjs-portal#528 for the color change of the fa-icon
please feel free to create issues for things you want the product to do.
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
Hey guys, I added a menu bar with menus based on uPortal tabs and menu items that link to portlets in those tabs
That works well
Now, the request is to allow clicking on menu titles to display the current tab portlets as tiles in AngularJS-Portal
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
Trying to estimate this. At first review, I need to dynamically set Service_Loc.layout and .layoutTab. I suspected caching may need to adjusted to handle different tabs
anything else you can think of?
Tim Levett
@timlevett
That seems to make sense. I believe the cache key is the URL, so if that is changing then the cache will only return a specific tab, but you can set cache:false in the $http.get call
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
Any other code that may need to be modified to support this? Hopefully it is that simple, but "that simple" is rarely the case :)
Tim Levett
@timlevett
yeah, that should be about it
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
Thanks @timlevett . So in the function to switch tabs, I am changing SERVICE_LOC.layout and .layoutTab. Whats the best way to refresh the page without undue API calls?
Tim Levett
@timlevett
I would recommend making a route for each tab
so if you land on say /web/expanded it'll just do a default tab
or the first tab
then if you do something like /web/expanded/{tabname}
you can snag that tab name in the controller and pass that to the service
the links in the tab would then be /web/{mode}/{tabname}
where mode is expanded or compact, and tabname is the tabname
does that make sense?
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
Yeah
What are the modes? Expanded and compact?
Tim Levett
@timlevett
expanded = widgets, compact = buttons (best and default for phone)
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
I'm still ramping up on AngularJS. Looked at toogleMode(mode). Looks like miscService.pushGAEvent('Widgets', 'View', mode); would refresh view. Would that be the call?
Benito Gonzalez
@bjagg
Things are coming along. Ran into some issues with making "Home" H3 title change with the tab title. Struggling with the directive isolated scope, but finally got it working
One thing besides clearing cache is to make the menu responsive to adding, removing and re-ordering the tiles
Timothy A Vertein
@vertein
that would be neat.
greghollenbaugh
@greghollenbaugh
Quick question, there is css in uw-frame and in angularjs-portal, where should I put my css files so they won't be overridden?
greghollenbaugh
@greghollenbaugh
In the mock version, individual information is passed to a widget, how is the personal information passed to the widget?
Josh
@mooresox55_twitter
We are trying to load user session data in one of the portal xml files. We currently have the widget div create and it shows up, but we are having issues passing data to it. We have successfully passed session data in the angular frame fine. Any ideas?
Timothy A Vertein
@vertein
@greghollenbaugh - angularjs-portal overwrites uw-frame. So, you'll probably want the angularjs-portal project. WRT, how is information passed to the widget in the non-mock version? Through an api call to the HRS portlet. It uses the rest-proxy service included in angularjs-portal (https://github.com/UW-Madison-DoIT/rest-proxy)
Hey @mooresox55_twitter, take a look at the rest-proxy service (https://github.com/UW-Madison-DoIT/rest-proxy). The readme on the angularjs-portal has a bit under readme talking about the config, but the rest-proxy project has some more info as well
greghollenbaugh
@greghollenbaugh
what would be the widget configuration setting for the weather portlet?
greghollenbaugh
@greghollenbaugh
How to get the uportal login to go directly to /web?
Timothy A Vertein
@vertein
@greghollenbaugh, we're using uPortal's rendering pipeline for that. For our case, we are looking if the user is not focused on one portlet. If they are not, we then redirect the user to /web.
greghollenbaugh
@greghollenbaugh
I have the code in the rendering pipeline to go to /web but I must be missing something because the login button goes to /web and I do not get logged in.
