any objections to pull request #31?
ah, looks nicer :D
Tim Levett
@timlevett
nice work @nblair

pull: UW-Madison-DoIT/rest-proxy#33
Tim Levett
@timlevett
fun fact, you can add in a post commit hook for gitter.im in your github project, then the feed works on the right
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
neat!
but you can, since you are a project admin
I can only point it to my fork
Tim Levett
@timlevett
done
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
cool
Tim Levett
@timlevett
also, i know you all are using slack as well. Looks like they have a gov't edition of ToS. https://slack.com/terms-of-service/government
you may want to request to be covered under that instead of the normal private sector one
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
Sounds like we are covered implicitly: "If You are a U.S. government or U.S. public entity or an employee acting on behalf of one of those entities, read on. This Amendment applies to You."
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
@timlevett : 2.1.0 is sitting in a staging repository now. I think I don't have permission to promote it (I have a grayed out Promote button); do you?
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
oh, or if we have active syncing it transfers automatically within 2 hours, according to the internet
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
^that didn't happen
Tim Levett
@timlevett
lemme check, i thought we set that to auto deploy in the maven project...
Tim Levett
@timlevett
@paulerickson looks like the validation failed when attempting to close
no signatures
and invalid pom
Invalid POM: /edu/wisc/my/restproxy/rest-proxy-boot/2.1.0/rest-proxy-boot-2.1.0.pom: Project name missing, Project description missing
it looks like it couldn't find your public key anywhere
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
drat
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
Fix for the missing pom fields: UW-Madison-DoIT/rest-proxy#36
regarding signatures, they were generated and uploaded, but I made a new key and forgot to publish it (d'oh!). It's published now
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
Sonatype claims to have succeeded and sent emails, but I didn't get one and I don't see the artifact :(
this is after I deleted the 2.1.0 folders and hit Close
but maybe Close was not the thing to hit
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
woo, it released! (I had to hit Release) https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/edu/wisc/my/restproxy/
Tim Levett
@timlevett
nice!
Tim Levett
@timlevett
@paulerickson Interesting pr UW-Madison-DoIT/rest-proxy#45
Will there ever be the case that we are not using shib? (for uw related stuff)
since shib doesn't play well with cross origin requests
Paul Erickson
@paulerickson
hmm, I can't say for sure but I have two potential use-cases in Bucky Backup
we'd like to get an admin tool or two released ahead of the whole-site-rewrite, so it might be quicker to hack it up with basic authentication, since there would only be one or two users
(temporary use case)
and also, we want to feed statistical data into graphs and reports -- if that data gets classified as public, then that could be a long-term use case where we don't need shib
Tim Levett
@timlevett
gotcha, just curious. thanks for the info
