Hi, the download location for the demo songs on Android is accessible from normal file manager (in Android and from PC I think) .

I don't know if Android (and Unity on Android) support network folders out of the box

Network address normally starts with two backsalshes. Did you try \\192.168.178.34?

If this is not working already, please open a new issue for UltraStar Play that it should support network folders on Android.

It sounds like the above question has different expectations that what the answer is for. UltraStar Play requires the song folder to be on the local device as a folder. Play however also supports downloading song package files (which are then unpacked to a local folder of the app storage on the phone / TV / computer). I guess a documentation of what is expected as format of the downloadable song package file is missing so far.

I see. The network folder support is a platform thing that depends on operating system and Unity. Adding other file system support is out of scope for UltraStar Play.

The path is /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.Karaoke.UltraStarPlay/files

Note: This path must be accessed from another device via USB connection. The contents of this location are private. This means no app on the Android device can read the data created by another app.

For example, on my Windows machine, I can access the path as My Phone\Internal Storage\com.Karaoke.UltraStarPlay\files

As alternative, you could maybe a path on an SD card to UltraStar Play. But I did not try it yet. There might be issues because SD card access requires some permissions on Android.

You can find the path to your SD card using some file managers. For example, Simple File Manager shows the path in the folder details.

Thanks. I could reach the path after having connected my Samsung 10e to my Windows laptop.

So I was able to upload my own songs to my Phone in the standard Android folder of Ultrastar Play.

But I still have another issue: I connected my Scarlet 2i2 audio interface to my phone. Mic is recognized in general in the Ultrastar App (also during a song) but I can only hear the song title not my voice over the mic? Is this an Android issue?

Another thing: I also installed the Android version on FireTV HD. Installation succeeded but after starting the App no button works. It is stuck on the first page. Buttons can be selected but without reaction.

this is as designed. UltraStar Play is a sing-along karaoke game, it does not repeat the audio that the microphone picks up.

Strange. I guess this is the sense of Karaoke. With my Windows computer the mic audio sound is also passed through from the audio device to my amp. Makes no fun if the voice isn't amplified but only the song.

lots of computers support direct microphone audio playback with hardware acceleration, so that there is very little delay. As far as I know, phones do not offer that out of the box. I'd assume that a usb microphone connected to the phone and also connected to a speaker over wire would do a better job

There are also technical limitations. I tried passing the mic input to an audio output with Unity's API. But there was a significant latency such that I heared everything "twice" and not in sync. I use my USB mic in USPlay with a delay of approx. 300 milliseconds. Even without the pitch analysis, this is way too much. Of course, other sound cards might perform better. But I still have doubts because of Unity API and C# as managed language.

Thus I agree with basisbit, passing the mic input to a speaker by another app (or operating system feature?) would be the better option.

However, I am unsure if a smart TV has good enough hardware to run USPlay. Is smart TV hardware comparable with todays smartphone hardware (processor, memory, graphics)?

firetv stick from amazon has the typical arm quadcore and 2GB ram or so. However, they usually have very limited flash storage

they are made to play video just fine, so they should be able to power usplay

If you have a Window, you could try to change resolution by dragging the corners.

F11 should toggle window/fullscreen mode

If nothing helps, delete settings.json to reset all options. This file is near the log file (see https://github.com/UltraStar-Deluxe/Play/wiki/Logging-(Serilog))

we should document the persistentDataPath in general

Hi @Wolfzeit420 - at the bare minimum, you need is an UltraStar text file (search e.g. usdb.animux.de) and a fitting audio file (MP3 or OGG format) matching the filename under #MP3 in the UltraStar file. A nice cover (ideally square) file (JPG format) make the song selection screen prettier and easier to find songs.

Hi! Do you know how I can connect my wireless usb singstar microphones to Android TV for Ultrastar Play? I have a Nvidia Shield Pro setup on which I managed to install Ultrastar Play. Is this even possible?

Sorry, I cant help you with this. Have neither an Android TV nor wireless mics. But if the mics work in Android with other apps then I would expect them to work in UltraStar Play as well.

otherwise, you could try the UltraStar Play Companion app. If your TV and smartphone use the same WLAN then you should be able to use your smartphone as input for USPlay.

Maybe another question then. I’m trying to add my own songs from my ultrastar deluxe collection. I want to use my NAS for it. I can see how I can manuallty add a path but I can’t get it working. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong or in what format it should be.

would be easier if there were a built in filw browser to be sure. Now I use the path /storage/DS412/video/Songs which is a correct path as far as I can understand. I used Xplore to see how the structure and path compares to the original songs that are included. Any pointers?

I think this is not supported. Currently, we use the Unity file system API to access song folders. Maybe this does not work for network folders, only for local files on tge device.
