Thus I agree with basisbit, passing the mic input to a speaker by another app (or operating system feature?) would be the better option.
I also installed the Android version on FireTV HD.
That's pretty cool!
Installation succeeded but after starting the App no button works.
That was probably an error in USPlay. Would need to inspect the log files.
However, I am unsure if a smart TV has good enough hardware to run USPlay. Is smart TV hardware comparable with todays smartphone hardware (processor, memory, graphics)?

firetv stick from amazon has the typical arm quadcore and 2GB ram or so. However, they usually have very limited flash storage
they are made to play video just fine, so they should be able to power usplay

If you have a Window, you could try to change resolution by dragging the corners.
F11 should toggle window/fullscreen mode
If nothing helps, delete settings.json to reset all options. This file is near the log file (see https://github.com/UltraStar-Deluxe/Play/wiki/Logging-(Serilog))
we should document the persistentDataPath in general

Hi @Wolfzeit420 - at the bare minimum, you need is an UltraStar text file (search e.g. usdb.animux.de) and a fitting audio file (MP3 or OGG format) matching the filename under #MP3 in the UltraStar file. A nice cover (ideally square) file (JPG format) make the song selection screen prettier and easier to find songs.

Hi! Do you know how I can connect my wireless usb singstar microphones to Android TV for Ultrastar Play? I have a Nvidia Shield Pro setup on which I managed to install Ultrastar Play. Is this even possible?

Sorry, I cant help you with this. Have neither an Android TV nor wireless mics. But if the mics work in Android with other apps then I would expect them to work in UltraStar Play as well.
otherwise, you could try the UltraStar Play Companion app. If your TV and smartphone use the same WLAN then you should be able to use your smartphone as input for USPlay.

Maybe another question then. I’m trying to add my own songs from my ultrastar deluxe collection. I want to use my NAS for it. I can see how I can manuallty add a path but I can’t get it working. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong or in what format it should be.

would be easier if there were a built in filw browser to be sure. Now I use the path /storage/DS412/video/Songs which is a correct path as far as I can understand. I used Xplore to see how the structure and path compares to the original songs that are included. Any pointers?

I think this is not supported. Currently, we use the Unity file system API to access song folders. Maybe this does not work for network folders, only for local files on tge device.
Maybe one could implement to download songs on the fly from network folders (or internet). But this is not on my roadmap yet.

As a workaround, is there an Android tool to mount a network folder in the local file system? I could imagine that Unity API (and thus USPlay) would be able to access the files then, because network stuff would be handled by another layer

Mounting seems to require root and might damage data if not done right. I think the easier short term solution is to sync relevant files to an SD Card, which can be accessed as local storage. There seem to be some file sync solutions

Ah got it. My collection is around 200 GB of songs so not sure if the local filesysge

I tried to access a folder on my SD card. This works from USPlay. However, I cannot access an external USB storage this way. I don't know why.
In the next Pull Request, I added a warning if a folder does not exist (from USPlay perspective). This helps to decide whether a path can be used or not.

Recent Unity supports compilation to PS4 and PS5. There is no PS3 support anymore.

I already tried sign-up for the Sony PlayStation developer program. There are various requirements that you can't possibly fulfill without either having a decent stack of money or being a big company. I mailed their contact address and asked for suggestions how to get a free / libre open source game as private person onto the PSN platform, and their response was that my only chance would be to find a big games dev company that wants to partner with us and which then does the release process for us.

By the way, I still have a registered and licensed Microsoft developer account that can release xbox games. So, we could consider publishing the game to xbox. However, I don't have one to test the game on.

indeed, my Microsoft partner account and the connected developer account are currently in a broken state. Support wasn't able to fix it adhoc, so they created a ticket for it to get fixed %soon%
I remember writing to this blog, sadly they never answered. But from the phrasing of this article, it seems they did read my mail :)

I also found an article how to create songs for USDX on chip.de. Clearly, this needs a rewrite once the new USPlay with the new song editor will be released :)
